bras too tight for US girls
I .ave both the Genie and Ah bra- they are both two or three sizes too small and are made in China where the women are much smaller than US gals. The Ah materal is not as thick as the genie and you can see the nipples through it, and the straps are to long,I sewed them an inch up and it worked. I weigh 170pds and wear size x-large in cloths and the both bras are tight on me especially around the band, they need 5 and 6 ex for anyone over 170 pds. What happened to made in the USA?
Love it
I have been wearing the Genie Bra for over a year and love them!! I wear a small top and a 34b, and I bought the medium. It fits wonderfully, no rolling. Mine came with the removable pads. The provide, at least for me, great separation and support. I am a believer!!
genie bra
bought the genie bra, I am 5ft 2 and always have trouble with straps being too long, have the same problem with genie bra, it fits, but if they made a model with shorter straps, it would hold the boobs much better, how can you have the same support with the same bra for a 6ft person compared to a 5ft person?
Ahh Bra
I was a 42 DD and found no matter what I wore I would bounce when I walked and I was constantly pulling my bra band down. I was convinced that I was built with my boobs lower on my chest than normal because no matter how I lengthened the straps they kept riding up in the back. Being a busy woman I would not notice how uncomfortable the were but when I finally would clue in that I was very uncomfortable I felt like the bra was up around the top of my shoulder blades.
I bought the set of 3 just before I was accepted for breast reduction. They were great to wear during the healing period as you wear then 24/7. I still like them very much but wish I had gotten a size larger. I ordered a large as I didn't want them to slip up over my breasts. They don't but I find them a bit tight. A XL or 1X would have been better.
On a side topic I would really like to suggest the breast reduction to those of you that do not feel you need huge breasts to be sexy. I struggled with the decision after my daughter had her surgery and finally decided that my comfort was a lot more important than having a play object for a man. By the way my husband was very supportive and allowed me to make up my mind. Once I had decided he comforted me while I was waiting and confirmed that I had made the right decision. I can confirm that it was one of the best decisions I ever made. I look so much better in tops and my back is not sore like it was. So don't suffer like you do as there is another option. It was covered by OHIP, you just need your dr to refer you to a surgeon and if you have enough to be removed he/she will schedule you surgery. I spent the night in the hospital as we lived over 50 miles away and went home the next day. A couple of days being careful and almost back to normal. Within 3 weeks I was able to sleep on my stomach.
Every now and than a new bar coming to the market with a new promise. I’m always on the look for new wireless bra. I must admit I have yet to find the perfect wireless bra that will give the same support and look. I also like my bra a bit padded especially in the summer because I don’t not like to show my nipple through the shirt (well, at least not at work).
The new bra on the block is Genie Bra. Here is the official blurb:
The Genie Bra was created as an attractive and comfortable alternative to traditional bras. Reviews say the seamless Genie Bra ends struggling with straps and feeling underwire digging into your skin. It is a pullover bra you slip into. Unlike sports bras, Genie Bra separates and lifts your breasts, and its wide bottom band gives you the support you need without rolling. You can even wear it as a camisole. The secret to the product is its woven everlast comfort stretch fabric that custom conforms to any size. Thus it is appropriate for all cups from A to DD. You can size it by simply matching your “Genie Bra size” with your clothing size. Genie Bra is made of Nylon (96%) and Spandex (4%). It is machine washable, can be put in a dryer, and never loses its shape. Colors available for the Genie Bra are nude, black, and white.
Now i’m looking for a bra I can wear not only around the house or as I call it a “weekend bra” but to work as well, and I was wondering if the Genie Bra is the right one. I find that the wire bra though give the best support very uncomfortable and hard to care for and the good ones also very costly.
Well, before I buy I like to do my research So if you like me, and always on the look for this perfect bra that can really do the job, read the the conclusions I gather and analyzed form all around, reviews, testimonials, comments and personal experience about Genie Bra
These are some of the comments that I’m finding about the Genie bra, and of course there are plenty others about the Ahh bra.
Some women complained that the official reseller was back-ordered, but in the end they got the product. One important thing I noticed is to order padding with the original order. There was no option to order pads after fact, but in the meantime they may introduce the accessories, which are more expensive.
In terms of material, several girls mentioned that Genie bra material is comfortable to wear, but pads are must if your nipples are exposed more than you would prefer. Some girls try putting two bras on, but from my prospective that would defeat the whole purpose.
If it’s correct what other reviewers are saying, Bed Bath & Beyond are selling them in the store. Apparently, there is a coupon for 20% off, which can bring you 2 packs for under $35.
One of the girls is 40DDD, and she says Genie bra is super supportive and comfy. She’s wearing them to sleep too, and that they are almost like a sports bra, which I thought they are. But she mentions that they are not cute, but good for around the house.
Same problem as with Ahh bra, in terms of uni boob look. Still, she’s very happy for purchasing, but more for the fact that she got it at BBB, instead of online.
The good:
The Genie Bra feels like a sports bra but with more separation and definition. All most everyone agree that the Genie Bra has nice, comfortable, smooth fabric. The Genie Bra seems to fit nicely for cup sizes A-C, but most agree it’s fit bigger sizes well just don’t give the same support and shaping. Most reviewers agree that it is very comfortable bra, and if you find the right size it’s fit great. The pads inside feel good, it is actually more like additional material to cover the nipples (which is what i’m looking for).
The bad:
The bottom band of the Genie Bra tend to roll up, though most reviewers say it is not too bad and still better than wires. Many woman say it is hard to find the right fit with the genie Bra, it is not clear enough if you need to choose your shirt size or you bra size. Many reviews claim you need to order one size up while others say the Genie Bra has a small fit. I ordered one size up, but i’m still waiting for it to arrive, which is another claim that it takes very long to arrive. Actually the main complain everyone say is the long time it has taken the genie bra to arrive after you order. Also I found few complain about the price of shipping and handling but that deapnd to where you order your genie bra form.
Tips:
Make sure to order your fit, because If the bra is loose, it will do nothing for you!
Be sure to order the genie bras with the removable pads. They offer a much better support.
Now they offer the ones with lace and the ones with prints
Let me know what you think.
In case you are considering a purchase of the Genie Bra, attached is a sizing guideline, copied from the official website.
When picking your Genie Bra size, there are two measurements to keep in mind; your bust size and your shirt size. Generally, you can choose your Genie Bra size by your shirt size. This title is misleading. I want to know the DIFFERENCES between the two bras…not more info about one bra…
The difference between the Genie Bra and the Ahh bra is simple. The Genie bra is double layered, with an opening on the inside to put in or take out the padding. The Ahh bra is a single layer and does not come with any pads at all. The look is very similar but that is all. I have both and I feel the Genie bra is the best buy and best fit. They both fit great and and have ok support. They are so comfortable that I sometimes forget I have a bra on. Like the ads say, just go by your shirt size and you will get the right fit. I got xlarge and still have room left ad I usually wear eith a 16 Womens or just an xlarge shirt.
I have the Genie Bra’s but they do not have pads to take in and out. Did not know that was an option at the time. My husband had bought them for me for a gift. The genie Bra is very fitting and comfortable the only problem I have with it is sometimes the nipple shows through. I could never walk around the house with just a bra beause your nipple shows through the white and beige colored bras. I just saw the commericial for the AHH bra and the material looks thicker and the models only had the bra on and you could not see their nipples. I am a 36D and I bought the large which fits fine and I take a L to XL in a tee shirt. I do not like tee shirt tight. The AHH bra looks like the front is cut differently into a more v-shape look. I will try wearing two bras like they showed on the commericial. Never new that was an option. I may buy one AHH bra to see how it fits.
I think you may have the 2 bras confused. The Genie bra has cups and a removable pad inside. The Ahh bra does not. You do not need to wear 2 bras. One Genie bra is all that you need- believe me. You can also purchase these (Genie) bras at Walgreen’s or Bed Bath and Beyond.
I bought my Genie Bras at Pamida. They were 2 for $19.99! They had the pads in them, but I took them out. They are comfortable but the band does roll a bit. They only colors available in the package were the nude and the black. Would like the white also, but that wasn’t offered at the store. I was glad to not have to get 6 of them without trying a couple of them first.
I have a Genie Bra (six), not a single one has a cup or that as an option and no hole to put anything in it. Compared it to the AHH bra and they are exactly the same, including the material, just one is more expensive. The support is exactly the same – I am 34 DDD. There is no real support, but it’s like wearing no bra at all, only it feels like someone can’t see through my shirt and I have protection mentally, because you really don’t notice these. However, they do roll up and I have to constantly pull them down, both kinds, even though I have the right fit, was fitted by a friend. Hope that helps.
I have two types of Genie bras, One has the slot for inserts and came with inserts, no nipple shows through with this. And the other set that I got at a bargain, wasn’t such a bargain because they don’t have the slots for the insert. So there are TWO types of genie bras, watch out and be sure of what you want.
I just bought a Ahh bra and Genie bras, they are the same bra with a different name in them.If you put one inside of the other you will see the are made the exact way and if you don’t look at the tag you can’t guess which is which.I am a heavier lady that wears a size 20 or 22 top and both the bras roll up.
Thank you Esther for your info. That was exactly what I was looking to find out. I am the same size as you and I wanted to know how someone my size feels about these bras before i go out and spend too much money on something I’m not happy with.
see Im a bigger girl.. I wear a 38G.. I love the AHH Bra but I do have to wear 2 of them when I go out to get good support… it holds me in place, it holds them up,it doesnt cut my shoulders,I dont have to ajust all the time.. now when I want that omg look like goin out to a club I put on my push up bra that I took the wires out of cause they pinch and hurt.. and put an Ahh bra over it so I dont have to pull & ajust all night and still get the extra sexy boobs that sit up in the noise bleed area lol… but around the house I wear 1 and at work or just out and about I wear a double layer… it works great before I found them I was gettin deep indensions where my straps go, always pullin and tuggin…. I do hair so my arms are always up the old bras started pinchin my nerves started causin pains in my arms and back… with this Ahh bra I dont have that problem any more… the Ahh bra does help… but I find it best if I wear 2 for sure
I bought the Genie bra online from the Genie website after seeing the TV ads and reading all the comments posted here. I wear 38D bra, size 12. I bought the L size. I am very disappointed. The bra is flimsy, with minimal support and minimal separation. The bottom band rolls up. Despite the comments above, there are no pads and no opening to insert pads. I am bouncing just walking around the house. This bra is useless to me. I feel I have wasted $60.
I first ordered my Genie Bras online and there was not the option to order with or without pads. I called customer service and they shipped me the bras with the double layer for the pads, along with the pads (before I sent the others back). I would call customer service for an exchange.
Don’t bother with the Ahh bra my nipples show through I have to wear two of them, I am really disappointed with these bras would not recomment them, I am 12E.
So what if they show through? I don’t get this… We have them, we show them. What’s a biggie?
I have the Genie bra, and altho the straps do cut into my shoulders a bit, the bra is comfortable enough to forget it is on. However that being said, I DONT like the uni boob look, but it is ok under my uniforms (scrubs) I was So hoping these bras or even the Aaah bra would be the revolutionary bra we all seek. I wanted a bra to wear under my summer tops (I live in Arizona and it is SO hot here), I had the option to buy the pads, but didn’t as I have small nipples and they dont show, and I am a 36 D. Little support, def not for running or intense workouts, but comfortable in itself. I do wish more colors available when buying in store. WalMart, WalGreens, just about anyone sells both these bras now.
Desa, I teach middle schoolers. I want them to hear the words that are coming out of my mouth. No need to make middle school any tougher than it already is.
I have the ahh bra and yes you can see the nipples threw it. Other than that I love it. But I’m thinking of trying the genie bra. Plus it’s Australian made
I’ve got bothbras and in my opinion, the genie is the best. Your nipples don’t show through as they do with the ahh bra.You get better support from the genie bras too. And to make things even better, you get 2 genie bras for the price of 1 ahh bra! They’ve spoiled me. The only time I will wear any other bra is when I need a racerback…and if genie ever comes out with that, they definitely have my business!
Betty
I bought the Genie bra, and it didn’t come with any pads or openinigs nor was mine 2 layers,it only came single layer w/ very thin material. I do like the comfort of them.
I definitely don’t miss the underwires! My husband finds them very sexy.
After only getting my bras from Victoria Secret, I was getting disappointed in their lack of quality. The last bra I bought from them disintegrated right after I took it out of the package!
It was made really cheap w/crappy rubber threads. The fit of the bra was utter crap! I love my Genie Bra.
I bought both Ahh bra and Genie bra but I prefer Genie over Ahh Bra because they have more support.
If you want to test without the extra shipping fees and the ”But wait, there’s more…”, you can purchase both the ahh and genie bra at walmart in the as seen on tv section, usually behind the cigarette isle. I just got the genie bra. Was $20 for 2. They had the inserts and pads included. I’m a big stomach girl and usually 38D so I got large. Band does roll, pads take adjusting for the right curve scheme, but after that you’re good to go. I like it better than the VS bras I usually wear, especially in 100 degree heat.
Thanks Echo, this is exactly what I was looking for. I live close to a Walmart Store. I’m going to buy one of each … one of the Genie bras and one of the Ahh bras and see if I like either of them. I didn’t want to order the bras online just to see if I liked them. I didn’t want to waste the time or money, especially the shipping and handling. Thanks, again.
I have 4 of the Genie Bra’s 2 for regular wear and 2 I wear for working out — I LOVE THEM…I will never wear another bra ever….the only thing I wish is that they had ones that we’re lower cut for certain shirts and maybe thinner straps…
I took a chance and ordered the Aah bra from HSN. I am 44 D, I was disappointed. I didn’t feel any uplift support, the front band rolled a little, the back was fine.
After 20 min, i got uncomfortable because the sides road up under my armpits. The bust line gave me a barrel chest look with no separation. I did not find that flattering and my boobs jiggled as I walked like jello. Needless to say I returned the bras that day. I think if you are slim and small chested like an A or b cup it might be OK.
I bought the Ahh bra, Im normally a size 10B so I am a smaller chested woman and I was even worried about the support provided, id seen the adds on TV and planned on buying the bra as a sports bra, ive had to wear 2 Ahh bras at once to get the support I have with normal bras. Also because the Ahh bra doesn’t come with the removal pads, you really do need a double layer. Having said that Im really happy with my purchase, it is the most comfortable bra and i dont have the red marks that I seem to end up with after wearing any of my bras even the ones that have been fitted by a professional (however i only paid $10 per bra and if i had paid more for the bras i probably would have felt ripped off-Im gunna buy the genie bras next)
Also I found that pick your bra by measuring your bust, don’t go off there conversion, or shopping for ur top, if they have a measurement that you can go I think this will be the most accurate – i found it to be that way
genie bra is not sexy
I wear a 46 DD and ordered the 3X Aah Bra. At first when I got them I was very disappointed in that there was very little support. What I did is cut the straps, removed some of the material and re-sewed them together. I have much better support now. I like that it doesn’t ring when you go through a metal detector the way an underwire does. It does up great in the wash, although I do not put mine in the dryer, they air dry.
there is no problem putting them in the dryer. They come out just the way they go in. One of my favorite things about them!
I also am very disappointed with Ahh Bra. It rolls up and gives no support and I also look like I have 1 continuous flattened breast ,Does not live up to advertising
I found that the nursing tanks were my ftoarive. I never did find a nursing bra that I was happy with, but I felt the nursing tanks were great. They are just like the tanks with a built in bra, only with the snap at the top for the nursing panel. I found some at Wal-Mart for a reasonable price. I probably will have to buy new ones for any future pregnancies, but they were worth the price!References :
Hi, I also wanted to know the difference when I was deciding which to buy and found it very hard to gage by these replies so I’m gonna try and help you avoid an expensive mistake. I take a size 12/14 in clothes and wear a medium teeshirt as I avoid tight clothes. My bust is 37 inches around the fullest part and 31 inches immediately underneath. I was advised in the advert to buy a size L in the Ahh bra which flattens me completely and it does roll up and becomes quite uncomfortable! The next size up would be too big around the back so It’s only fit to wear in bed. I was advised to order a size XL in the Genie Bra and it’s a brilliant fit. It supports me and does roll up but it’s not uncomfortable…just a bit of a nuisance. This bra gives me the figure I wanted and covers the nipples so they don’t show through your outer clothes. I would have bought the medium in both going by my shirt size but just make sure you buy at least two sizes larger in the Genie bra. I truly hope this helps some of you. Happy shopping xx
All very confusing because you can’t buy in a store and try before you buy. However I managed to buy from Costco, a sports bra two pack, by Lady Hathaway. Much more support than the Genie or the Ahh. I am small busted wearing a UK 32 F and I do get light support from the Genie and Ahh but prefer the sports bra from Lady Hathaway.
Maybe the sports range in Ahh or Genie may help those who find that the bras roll up.
All said these bra designs are so much better than the traditional styles for comfort.
I would just like to see more style choice now with colours and frills etc.
Also like to point out that I have recently been on holiday to Asia where these bras are made and you won’t believe how much mark up on the price of these bras are. The prices we need to pay are ridiculous for what we get. Look out for stores selling similar Ahhs and Genies as I managed to purchase individual bras in Australia in a store called “Target” they were called fatbacks! and so much cheaper than the Internet prices.
I just bought the Ahh bra at Walmart! I live in Canada and it cost 19.95! I was also disappointed with the support and shaping. I am a medium size top and 36 DD bra, It makes my chest look flattened and not defined like I saw on the infomercial. It was very comfortable and didn’t fall off
my shoulders like all my other bras! I didn’t have any rolling up as some have stated.
I need to order some more, mmm how to do it, after reading many comments, I didnt realise the different marketing seems to be depending where you live in Aussie or where ever, and the different versions of buying through who….. and the price varies……..I original got my through global direct, $89 for 3 then half price $49 for another 3, I oredered medium and large, I’m generally a size 12 shirt and found the Large was a better fit, they are comfortable but I also found they roll up and seem to give you a roll of fat (yuk) under the arm pit???? What the. Mine came with pads and can be removed…….they wash great and in dryer as well. Have they changed the material thickness? I will check out the ones in Target……..I wanted to buy my mum some as well……I was all set to order until I stumbled across this site……..Bugger
GENIE BRA IS A VRY USE FUL FOR WOMEN
The Genie Bra has inserts so you have support……the Ahh bra does not have that…..but both of the roll under the chest which they should not say they don’t do that…..I prefer Genie over Ahh Bra
Hi,
I was looking for the same info as you. I own some Genie Bras and I bought the xl size and as I am usually an F cup I find that there is not enough fabric in the bra to cover me and I still get that bulging line at the top of the bra.
Yesterday I found Big W had the Ahh bra on sale so I thought I would try one, they are a much softer fabric but there is so much more space. I only bought the XL and was concerned that it wouldnt be big enough after my Genie experience but I have put it on and it is so much more comfortable.
I would say if you have a large bust the Ahh bra is much better.
Hi,
Thanks for your info, I am a 12F but not quite 5ft tall, and also been wondering if the Genie/Ahh bra would be good for me. Did you mean Big W in Australia where you saw the Ahh bra on sale?
Can some one tell me whether you’ step into’ these Genie bras , you know right foot then left foot and pull, or stick your arms though and pull the bra down over the boobs? It does make a difference to a lot of elderly ladies – and I belong to that group – who might be sufferening from arthritis and have difficulties fastening a conventional bra. Love to hear your comments especially if there are elderly ladies using this style of bra.
step into either the Ahh bra or the Genie Bra and pull it up! Thye difference between the 2 is that the Genie has better support and modesty with the pads and a variety of colors available.
Yes, u step into the ahh bra. Then u can adjust “the girls” in the bra as u see fit. I LOVE my ahh bras! Good luck!
I, too, was pondering for months because I wanted to try one on before having to order the 3 in a pack until I searched on eBay. You can simply order just one and I only paid $12.99 shipping included. I chose to buy the one which came with a pad and ordered a Genie size M which fits me fine. My regular bra size is a 32D. – NEW – NOT PRE OWNED.
I chose Genie because more people seemed to prefer it than Ahh/
I agree, I wanted to know which one to choose based on testimony, had to look through all the comments instead to get an idea. I ended up buying the Aire bra from thane direct. It was flimsy & unsupportive. I am a size Large at 36 ff & thought there wouldnt be much chance of support but all the ads say that there is so i stupidly bought 6! Absolute waste of money! They are refunding me but i have to pay for postage, great £20 for nothing as its £9.99 postage there & back!! Dont bother ladies unless you are small chested or young & still pert!!
Aah bra, Aire bra, Genie bra….I saw an Aire bra on TV & find it very comfortable. It has no pads or double skin as the Genie bra has. On Amazon if Aire bra is typed the Genie bra comes up. Make sure you are buying what you want! I found the Genie bra to be too small (a medium was too tight in the Genie bra but a small was fine in the Aire bra). I also didn’t like the pads in the genie bra. The Aire bra feels like a better product to me & it suits my needs for a comfortable bra that does the job one would hope for with a bra. I used to wear under-wired bras but I shall now live in my Aire bra!
I have 2 genie and 3 aah bras. The genie feels better on – in that there seems to be more support and coverage including the sides and back. The aah bra is more stretchy. The pads in the Genie are important to me, so I bought an extra set of pads at ebay to wear under the aah bra – they may have to be tacked in place so no slippage. Both bras are comfortable but I prefer genie for support and comfort. I tried both bras on at WalMart. The genie though I had to buy first before going to the fitting room. Then to customer service for return. But worth the trouble to get the correct fit. Aah bras have panties available on ebay – but no panties for Genie. I found the sizing charts to be pretty accurate – but still best to try on first.
The difference between the Genie Bra and the Ahh bra. The Genie bra has two layers and a slit on the inside for the pad if you want it. The straps do not hold up all day. I am 40D and my brests are heavy. The straps loose it by the end of the day. And DO NOT BEND OVER during anytime while wearing the Genie.
The Ahh bra has a single layer and no pads. It looks close to the same as the Genie. Is comfortable like the Genie, but the staps hold up much longer. Basically almost the same with the exception of the straps.
I wear both but for me the Ahh fits and holds me better. Its a bit more expensive and you can purchase both at wallmart. The support could be improved on both. But they are very comfortable. It beats the underwire thats for sure.
I want to know, like the above comment, the difference and which is better. Also- DD size not given above
I am a 14DD and have just got my order, I love it and have even ordered more. They are comfortable and supportive enough for a larger cup size.
Hi Kellie,
I’m the same size. What size did you get and which brand. Thank you.
I wear a 38 DD normally and in the Genie it is a 2 X . in Aah large – but I wear both medium and large in Aah because the Aah bra does stretch out then less support. The Genie bra is pretty stable.
Yes the title is misleading. So what is the difference between the two bras….
I got it…. The Genie Bra seems to fit nicely for cup sizes A-C. Hmm
Now let me google the Haa Bra!!!!!!
I too want to know the difference btw Genie and Ahh…
My MIL bought these. For whatever reason they sent her 2x instead of 3x. She didn’t want to return them, and wears them anyway, she says they are still pretty comfy. Though we did take out the pads (which I never hear mentioned).
She gave 3 to me. I would’ve ordered large or maybe 1x at the most, so 2x makes me feel kinda bad cuz they seem to fit. So vey comfy. Daytime I like the pads to give me a bit more size and lift. At night super comfy without the pads.
But the band does roll! Here in Phoenix summer it’s so hot, and after a few hours the band does roll. But still more comfy than any other bra. Lightweight too.
But now I am struggling to find what size I want to order for myself. 2x seems to fit. 1x is my sleep shirt size… med to large is my shirt size. If I were to order that way I fear they will be too tight!
I can tell you the “ahhh” bra is toooo tight. It’s 2x one size LARGER than my shirt size and it actually hurts me, underneath my breasts and the middle of my back. It rolls right up and although there is some support, I am trying the Genie Bra, for the band underneath and the pads I knew nothing about. I know it comes in many colors.
I have the genie bra and am not impressed at all with it i am a size 16 in clothes at top so bought the bra it suggests it has the cups but if i lift my arms up which i do doing my horses and other jobs the bra comes up over the bust, it doesnt seem to have the width it shows on the pics at the bottom and the size smaller is not anygood either as it flattens out the breasts even with the pads in.
I have the genie bra in large (my size) and medium (daughter didn’t like them) I wear both and don’t notice the difference. So I would order the smaller size if I were you.
The Genie runs small.
I don’t understand why you “feel kinda bad” and why you’re “struggling” with what size you want to buy because the 2X’s your MIL gave you “seem to fit”. Who cares what size is on a label inside a garment. If the bras fit and they’re comfortable, why would you buy a smaller size that you think will feel tight. I have the Genie bras and I take a size large. Does that make me a better person than someone who takes a 3X? Hardly. Don’t be so hung up on a size. It doesn’t make who you are…What’s inside does, and that doesn’t have a size!
The bras my MIL bought were Genie. Sorry, I wan’t specific.
This is mis-leading, I want to know what is the difference in the Genie Bra and the Ahh Bra. I have tried the Genie Bra and really it is terrible. They tell you to order by your shirt size you do and it is too small. On the Ahh the rep. ask you if you wear your top tight or loose and then she ask your your bra size and then she tells you what size to order. I am becaming to think both are Scams. You nerer answer any of our questions.
There is no one answer just as everyone who wears a 36D is not the same size and shape. The sizes are ranges because it depends if you are large boned or small boned, do you have wide shoulders or narrow shoulders, a long torso or short torso. There is no one best bra for everyone, if you want comfort, you need to try each and find the best fit for you. There is no one bra for everyone. Describe not only your chest size but your shoulder size, your waist length and then your opinion, it would certainly give a more clear picture. I’m broad shouldered and wide, the Ahh Bra is therefore better for me.
I have have seen the Genie and Ahh bra on infomercials but did not really think they would work. I wear a 36D and having been wearing underwire for years but searching for the perfect non-wire support bra that is comfortable but they all were very disappointing. I walked into Bed Bath & Beyond saw this bra 2 for 19.95 plus my 20% discount and thought I would try in. Well I am in love. I called my husband from work the next day and said this bra is amazing. Even though I am a 36D I do use the pads. I have only been wearing them for a week but I am buying more…support, comfort, just wow.I am not sure how they will hold up in washing but I don’t care right now. I can wear a fitted t-shirt without a wired bra which i could never do before. I am so happy!
Hello, I’m a 40D and just ordered my Genie bras- was doing some research to see if I picked the right size [L].. I really appreciate your input and not I am confident that I made a good choice
oops typo- and now* I am confident~ !
I am a 38-40D, size 12 top (sometimes 14) and order a L. It is comforable, but it does not “lift and separate”. It gives total uniboob and not flattering at all. I wear them around the house for comfort but not for going out. I’m wondering it an XL would work better, but I don’t know that I’m willing to spend the money again and wait for it to come.
dont get the larger one i have that and it does the same no lift or seperate unless you mean coming up over your bust !! which mine has done constantly they are definetly not flattering at all
Amazon.com….29.99 for a set of 3 with free shipping….can’t beat that
I ordered 6 Genie bras for 59.95. Four days later went to CVS to get a prescription and guess what…three Genie bras with the inserts for ten dollars. Was going to cancel my order(no inserts)..and they arrive in the mail the next day.
Try the XL..you can get them at Walgreens now. I just grabbed one, we will see. I am the same size as you. Starting to get discouraged after reading these posts that they are just no good. You can try the Balconnette Bra from Lane Bryant. Very flattering and very comfortable and you work their coupons and sales, I wind up getting them for $17.99 each.
check out your local Wal Mart. At my local Walmart they are behind the counter where the cigarettes are. That way you can try on first. Or purchase first then return if necessary
Hi Editress–Thanks for your comments and the tip about BB&B. Just curious, so what size Genie bra did you end up buying if you wear a 36D?
Hi, I too bought Genie Bras. I take 36D but had to get 2XX large in the genie Bra after returning the X large. They are very comfortable but I find the inserts (pads)move around a lot and I am always readjusting them
I came on here researching the ahh vs genie. and like so many others am now completely confused. For a good comfortable wire free bra for larger fittings you can’t go past a Target (Australia) home brand. I’ve been buying them for nearly 20 years. Size 20+ have a 4 hook strap lots of extra support. I’m a 20DD and wear them 24/7. I’ve put on some extra weight and now they give a bit of a roll at the underarm which is what started me on the ahh bra search. Perhaps I’ll just stay with what I have tho.
I wear the same size bra as you. What size did you buy? I really want to try this bra.
Thanks
I am a 36 d also, and been wanting to try these! i bartend on the beach and wear tight tshirts every day, its really hot and my bras are so uncomfortable the first few hours running around i just cannot take it and am fussing with the bra, i usually take off the bra and put on a string bikini top which is a pain too, but i gotta fuss with that too, but at least it doesnt cut into my skin and gets me all sweaty. i will be so happy if these work, which after reading your experience i feel confident they will work!!! Mabe they will come out with spaghetti straps style you can wear under tank tops! Never have to wear a regular bra ever again!!! Thanks!!
Anyone wanting a bra similar to Genie or Ahh should check out Coobie bras. You might prefer those with the spaghetti straps.
so which kind of bra do u like? it wasn’t clear 2 me. please, specify.:) i really want 2 get rid off the wire bras. please, help!
thanks
I forgot to mention in my comment that it was the Genie Bra that I bought.
What size did you end up getting? If I’m a 34c size 6 top should I get small or medium? I like my tops more fitted than loose but dont want it too tight; Also I’m guessing from all the feedback people prefer genie to ahh bra? Thanks so much for any advice Camilla, creator of TummyTie
I am the same size as you… a 34C and bought the medium Genie bras… I am happy with the bras… I was after the comfort (just got them and even slept in one last night) and wanted it to stay in place no matter what activity I do (the straps do not slide over your shoulder and down, plus these bras do not flatten you out like a sports bra). I was being very cost conscience or I would have gotten 3 of them with the pads to hide the nipples just a bit more for work (for the change in temperature in the office and coming in from outside).
I got both the genie bra and the ahh bra. I got genie bra first and was quite impressed with it. Very comfortable. I bought the ahh bra to try also and find it just as comfortable. The material in the genie bra is a little thicker but I don’t feel it gives any more support than the ahh bra. They are not advertised as a sports bra but a comfort bra… and that they definitely are!!! I am a DD cap and I find that if i want more support with either bra I wear 2…the layering effect is so in these days. I found that when wearing 2, the ahh bra was more comfortable than wearing 2 genie bra… the genie bras tended to squish my bust in more and was more uncomfortable than the 2 ahh bras. The one thing i liked more about the genie bra was that it had the pockets for the extra padding. But the ahh bra has the nicer range of colours which is nicer when layering. I now have 9 bras in total so I am set!!!! Also both my orders were shopped very fast. I received them within a week of ordering and I live in a rural area!!!! So overall I am impressed with both bras…. but personally I think the genie bra should come in more colours!!!
I wear a size 12G minimiser bra. It has no wires at all. Do the Genie or Aah bras work for this size? I have a narrow back and very large heavy breasts. I would appreciate comments from anyone with a similar shape. I am slim in build.
hi, I myself am a 12H and have never found a bra with no wires (didnt think there would be any that were comfy or supportive) I was wondering if you ever found out if either of these bras were suitable??
I received the Genie bra as a gift and tried one on and noticed it was a little tighter than I would have like but not much support. I also noticed that I had a little bulge under the arm. Does this happen with the Ahh bra? Their website states that their bra is a little higher under the arm. I’m a 40DD and not too confident that the Genie bra will do it.
If You order Your Genie Bras from QVC they have a lot more colors, they all come w/ lace trim & all have modesty pads. Remember Genie bras run small. I wear Med to Large in Shirts but the 1x fits me best in the Genie Bra. I love mine & have 10 bras now but I’m planing trying the Coobie Bras next because sometimes You need a bra with thinner straps or no straps. They have more styles & color choices including some prints. I have never tried the Aah bra the Genie costs less & mine have always come with modesty pads.
Come on ladies! So much info, but no specifics! Nothing that can guide a person as to WHAT SIZE. The 36D person, what size Genie Bra did you get? The DD person, who layers her bras and now has 9 bras, what DD size and what size Ah and Genie bra did you get? The Phoenix person knows all about 2x, 3x, etc., but AGAIN what size? The person who knows what the Ah bra rep asks when you order, who bought a Genie bra that really is terrible, soooo what sizes are you talking about? I appreciate the info on fabric and anything else, but really I think many of us are concerned with the size. I guess if you buy at BBB, you can return for a different size if it doesn’t fit. Ordering, sight unseen, is a whole other ball of wax!!!
I have the 14DD cup and in the Genie bra I got a M….. but in the Ahh bra I got L. Both fit well. I think I could have got the L in the genie bra as well. Check out their sizing charts for further help. They do have alot of stretch in them anyway. I measured my bust with a tape measure (with a bra on) and I was around the 39 – 40 cm. I wear size 14 clothing or Medium tops. Hope this helps…..
PS…. Holding the Medium Genie bra and the Large Ahh bra together, they are the same width.
I would really like to know how you would compare support and the width of the band underneath as well as which seems to hold up best against rolling! This is a selfish purchase @ xmas so I’m only geting one brand! Thanks so much!
mine the genie bra lifts up over the bust and does not stay put, it soes not seperate and makes you look like you have one lump across chest instead of two breasts. i am a 40c in normal bras 16 top in clothes so bought the xxl which is for a size 16 wish i had gone for a 14 now but they dont give you the shape the advert says. buy one bra off ebay to try not spend the money on the pack like i did
SIZING has been my main question also. I went to Bed Bath and Beyond to get the Genie Bra to try and since I wear underwired bras in size 36DDD or 38DD even though I wear large Tee shirts and size 12 and 14 clothes (American sizes) I chose a size XL. HOWEVER…it was so tight it actually hurt my breasts though it wasn’t too tight around my ribs. I did return it to BBB and got the 2X size which is the perfect size for me. The pads are included and I wouldn’t wear it without them but I do love this bra. It is low cut on me and shows lots of cleavage but there is no bulge over the top of the cup nor under the arms and it gives a comfortable support. With my size breasts there isn’t much bra left underneath so the band is actually right under them and is still comfortable. I am almost 70 years young with many uncomfortable bras in my past so I feel like dancing in the rain with this discovery!
I just bought the genie bra the other day at bbb. I read the back that told me what size to get, but it was a little confusing, as my shirts are s, m, l, xl, not 2, 4, 6, 8, etc. I normally wear a size l or xl in t shirts, and depending on the brand, I wear 36D, 34DDD or 34DD for my bras. I bought size L, and it seems to fit very well. My personal preference is to have the bra fairly snug, or else it would kind of defeat the purpose for me. I know I have quite a few regular bra sizes, but hope that helps people!
Well after reading all the comment on the web about the Genie and the Ahh bra you have my sister and myself totally confused. Most of the feedback was negitive and very conflicing. Therefore we figure that we buy nothing at all. Thank you from Australia.
Buy the genie bra.
I bought Genie am size 10 to 12 (Australian) bought medium and they fit well very comfortable. I am 67 and have fracture in spine between shoulder blades that is irritated by normal bra fasterners. I did not think I would need the pads but have found they help support the weight and take strain off my back. I am very happy with them
I ordered genie bra in Australia off the infomercial but later realized I could also have ordered online for Australia as well. I ordered Australian size 16 as that is the top size I wear with my 38D /16D (probably bigger now) boobs. I have always been a difficult size to fit correctly as Im all natural Boob and wear size 12-14 for skirts and pants. I got fitted properly once and am actually in between a D and DD cup and have to try every bra on as nothing is consistent between brands for me. Underwires give me the lift and support i need but now I get heat rashes and chafing underneath so over the holidays started going without which isn’t always a good look especially when you are nearly 50!
The 3 genie bras arrived within the week and I am in Heaven! I love them. So light, so comfortable yet surprisingly uplifting. It came with the removable pads which is great as I don’t like nipples on show.
I didn’t like the look of the Aah Bra though I haven’t tried it. As I showed my step daughter to recommend the genie, she said her own mum had just gotten hers and loved it too. When I first saw the bra I didn’t think it was going to fit it looked small but it was actually perfect and doesn’t roll either.
Even though the sizing sounded dubious it was in fact correct for me and therefore I am on Team Genie!!
I am in the same boat girls…Now i dont want to buy either…Its important for your boobs to be seperate…Not one big barrel as someone mentioned…I would def have to try before i buy..Bummer…I was looking foward to my Geenie or Ahh Bra…
Kirsty from Melbourne, Australia.
P.s mite be that i will try get ONE on ebay……
I am in Australia and made an effort to go to big W to look at them they do look rather thin that was the Ahh bra and the price of $30 I don’t think it was worth it I am big busted so would look for more support now I see the same advert on telly with the same lady’s now they are called something Lizzie so I’m to am concerned wherever they are for me.
I have both the Genie Bra and the Ahh Bra. I bought the Genie Bra on line and the Ahh bra from Big W.
I think both are a great fit, and super comfortable (ahh the relief after years of underwire bras) but the Genie Bra provides me with a lot more support. I am a larger busted lady and take the 2XX. The Ahh Bra might provide enough support for a smaller busted / slimmer person, but I find that I don’t feel comfortable unless I have 2 Ahh bra’s on at once. I often wear 2 Genie bras when I am exercising – the difference in support is amazing – although day to day I just wear one. .
From a support perspective I would buy the Genie bra over the Ahh bra next time.
I appreciate the above comments about the “barrel” look, but I have to say, with both the Ahh bra and the Genie bra, I have a nice looking cleavage for the first time in my life . . . something that makes me feel very happy.
I don’t wear the pads. I think they are too small and kind of look a bit like headlights. Don’t really reckon I need them anyway!
Did you know there is a new one on the marker called the Aire Bra!!!!!!!! Has anyone tried this one and got any comments??
Yes, I live in canada and I just got my aire bras few days ago. I like it, and I have medium size breast, for me it dose the job. it is very comfortable to wear and the fabric is smooth. I don’t have genie or ahh bra so I can’t compare. for what it is, the aire bra worth it, because they have great deal now, I bought 1 set of 3 bras and got another set for free. when you order make sure to order the size of your t-shirt not your regular bra size
Thanks for all the info guys. I think I might just get me a Genie Bra, though I don’t know how long it will take to ship to Australia.
I ordered the Genie bra and I live in Australia and i got it within a week!!! I was very impressed. There is a phone number on the Expo channell on foxtel or austar if you get it.
I am going to say something more about the bras. I have been wearing them now for 2 weeks to try and get a better comparison for all you unsure ladies out there. I have both genie and ahh bra and after wearing them all day, I have to say the ahh bra was the most comfortable. I am a 14DD . The ahh bra seemed to keep its shape better and is a lot softer so if you do have a big bust and it will feel more comfy on your shoulders. Also I have worn both bras to bed and the Ahh bra was again more comfy. So the Genie bra may be that bit thicker and give that minimal extra support but overall I think the Ahh Bra is the most comfortable. And the support band didnt seem to roll and fold as much as the genie bra. I am not saying that I am dissapointed in my genie bra. But after longer wear the Ahh bra was more comfy. Sorry for any misleading posts I may have posted earlier. I did recommend the genie bra over the ahh bra to one lady but now I have changed my mind!!!! SORRY!!!!!!!! Should have waited for the longer trial run but was just so excited to find a comfy bra after all these years!!!
thanks for your added info….to be honest i’m surprised there is any difference at all as they use the same models/videos for both bras. i assume they are by the same mother company – just different resellers.
I agree 100% with what Julie & Audrey said that after reading all the comments about the Genie and the Ahh bra you have totally confused me. Most of the feedback was negitive and very conflicing. Therefore I figure that I will NOT buy anything at all. Thank you
I luv the Ahh Bra… It is more softer than the genie bra. And it retains is shape after all day wear better than the genie bra.
Everyone seems to have large busts!!! Are these bras any good for A or AA cup?
I have 3 Genie Bras (size xs-small) and use the pads. I wear a normal bra size of 34A. I wear either a small or medium shirt depending on the store. On the Genie site the size instructions say that if you’re in-between 2 shirt sizes on their chart you should size down and that’s what I did. The xs-small fits perfect. I definitely use the pads or I would be flat (with any bra). The fit is great & the look is very natural. I haven’t tried the Ahh Bra.
i have bought the AAH bra, in my opinion it is too expensive and i wouldnt buy any more, doesnt give much up lift but the worse thing is it pushes breasts together and if you have larger breasts this causes them to sweat and smell! breasts need to be seperated and pushed up for support these bra’s dont do it, and when you walk your breasts are bouncing all over the place! so i dont go aah! lovely bra i go aah! not again
hi janet, perhaps you got the wrong size. i have an ahh bra in xl and d cup breasts. it definitely lifts and separates the breasts. and when i walk for the first time in years my breasts are not bouncing. they are so good that i have ordered 3 more because i miss having one on when i have to wash it. and it is so comfortable. contrary to what the ads say i can definitely feel that i am wearing it, and find it too restrictive to sleep in, but it is not a bad feeling. also you have the added benefit of not having straps digging into you, and no rolls or spillage. i can’t recommend the ahh bra highly enough. haven’t tried the genie bra yet, but it looks to be much the same with the added benefit of padding, so might be worth a shot.
Whats wrong with u ladies. I am a man thinking of getting a gift for my lady. I am trying to work out what she needs in the best bra for her shape and size. I am not sure what size is going to be best. some say that they get a large in some shops and a medium in others but what are their cup and bust sizes. Though the claim from these manufacturers is that u only need to buy ur blouse or t-shirt size, when u review u should say ur cup sizes, ur bust sizes, the size u bought and how comfortable that was over a full day and night (if applicable) like big bust allison’s statement. Then people who don’t have the first clue can be enlightened and make a positive descision by comparing full reviews of woman the same size. My lady is a probable B – C and maybe 10 – 12 size. Can anyone give some feedback for the best bra on those specs.
Tony you need a medium size Genie Bra with pads. I wear a Size 16 shirt and 36D bra and have XL Genie Bras with pads and love them. I purchased them off Ebay. One first just to try it out and then got a great deal on 3 more from a great seller. Hope this helps you all
Yep go with the medium…!!!
Whats wrong with you tony? the ladies are kindly reviewing the bras.
if it makes a difference we live in london uk.
@Tony: if you want to purchase a gift for your lady, go to the effort of going to a lingerie store and purchasing a lacy slip/nightdress/teddy etc…just saying.
as for the Genie/Aah/Comfort Bras…My opinion won’t count for much but i need to get it off my chest (no pun intended).
The Ads: Most of the models have fake boobs; the Bras are all the same; the layering effect may be the in thing, but only in outerwear not underwear; and all are a waste of money.
In my opinion: Get yourself to a lingerie store and go to the effort of getting yourself properly fitted every 6mths or so, THEN purchase a correctly fitting bra…u/w or not. If fitted correctly, then you shouldn’t ever have issues with beautiful bras…yes they’re expensive, but by comparison… the cost of purchasing multiple Genie/Aah/Comfort Bras is the same if not worse as the fad will disappear, and i believe that Genie/Aah/Comfort Bra lovers will become haters as they begin to realise that their new bras do nothing to flatter them.
Okay…rant over…don’t shoot me…just needed to vent. Please keep in mind that these are only MY OPINIONS and MY THOUGHTS, so…be gentle.
I’m a 44C and a 2X blouse. What size should I get in either bra?
According to the Genie Box you should get a 3X if you wear a 44C. They have them at Wal-Mart, CVS. Someone posted that CVS has 3 in a pack for $10.00. Wal- Mart’s are &19.88- 2 in a pack.
I have just received my first AHH Bra it came free with a make up deal being of retirement age and a size 24 I thought the make up is going to make me look 10 years younger !! and a free Bra !!!!!! do they make them that big 24 DD well!!!! YES YES they do and I must say I have worn it all day and have felt very comfortable and my shoulders dont have the strain of holding up all that weight and yes the band does roll up and maybe the shape isnt as good as it could be but hey neither is my body but for now I am very happy happy happy
So whats the differencs between the slim’N’ Lift Aire bra compaired to the ahh bra and genie bra? Basically from what i can gather from reviews they are all the same just difference in personal comfort. I am a 12 E and wear a medium shirt aneed something to hold my breast especially during fitness as i am a PT, are they supportive or are they just a wear around the house bra?
In response to the ladies who are ABOVE DD cup size but also with slim torso/narrow backs – I am also in your category looking for answers. Does anybody with E plus size actually have any of these bras? No point in ordering any of them if they fit my body but don’t contain my boobs. Please?
Help, I’m the same im an aussie 12 back but a E size in the boobs, what size should I get?, has anyone tried one like this? will i end up strangling the boobs for the sake of the back sigh boobs are a pain!!!!
Don’t waste your money ladies. I purchased the Genie bras. They came right away so there was no long wait. Within an hour of putting it on, the bottom was rolling up. They are made of very thin nylon so when you prespire there is no place of the moisture to go it it and the nylon rub on your skin causing irratation. I have been looking for a comfortable bra for years and have yet to find one.
the Genie Bras are a rip off.. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY took 6 weeks to get and after opening the package and putting it on 1 sec to take off and sent them back the next day. They may be ok if you are small but I got a 3x and the material was so thing you could see my skin, and there was absoulty no support. they offered to sent me pads ( like I needed them) then the ones that were made out of thicker material. What the heck??? They do not refund the shipping and handeling charge so I lost $ 25 dollars but it was better than being ripped off the $60 bucks.. it cost me $4/00 to ship them back certified mail.. Wonder why it cost so much for them to send them to me.. LPLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY ON THESE.
I was thinking about buying the ahh bra.I did buy a pack or 3 “beauty bras” for £40. -The cheaper version of the ahh bra. They were extreamly comfortable, very soft silky feeling material, but there wasn’t much support.I’m a 38DD so I do need the support.I noticed whilst watching the adverts for the “gene bra” that where the pads were, you could see a circle on the front of the breasts of the moddels! I was debating between buying the ahh bra or the gene bra-But seeing the circles on the moddels wearing the gene bra put me off buying it. Does any one who has bought the gene bra know if it’s that noticable in real life,ie -close up, in person or was it just the lighting on the cameras and the angle the advert was shot at that was making it look very noticable? Please can ANY1 shed some light on this BEFORE I go & buy either the “ahh bra”, or the “gene bra” I have already lost £10 on returning the beauty bras that I ordered so I don’t want to have the same thing happen again.I thank you for taking the time to read this & hope to get a reply soon.Thanx Dx
The bra is on plastic models, on a human lady the pads meld in with the body curves.
Hi everyone, hope I can help….
I bought the AhhBra first, at walmart. The bra was $19.99 for one bra. I did not enjoy trying it on at home and brought it right back. The front and back of the bra are very high on the chest so that the top of my teeshirt barely cleared it. The shape that the bra gave my body was strange. AND. The whole thing pulled on my back muscles in an uncomfortable restraining way.
I bought the GenieBra at Bed Bath and Beyond. There were two bras in the $19.99 package. One was black, and one the taupe nude color. The bra gave me a better shape and looked even nicer with the pads that it comes with tucked inside. The front and the back of the bra are cut a bit lower, which gives it a younger silhouette then the ahhbra. I did not have back pain from being restrained.
The ahhbra rolled up right away, and the geniebra only rolls now and then. As advertised I do not fuss with my straps, and strap-fussing was exactly what sent me on this quest.
Does anybody know anything about the Magic Gravity Bra? It looks like the Ahh Bra and the Genie bra, but the material looks a little more substantial. I’m large-breasted and need support, but I’m tired of underwires and would like something with support and comfort.
I was wondering about the Comfortisse bra…Does anyone know anything about it?
I have the Ahh bra. It is ok, I have D to DD breast and it tends to push them together and make them sweat. I bought the genie bra but it is too small for me and I haven’t taken it back yet. So far neither of these bras have made me throw out my other ones.
I bought the Genie Bra today at BJ’s Wholesale — 3 for $19.99 (white, black, nude). It took a bit of decision to figure out the proper sizing for me. Recently lost 25 pounds so I now wear a size 8, but a large size shirt/top. There was an open package and I stretched the bottom band of the LARGE bra across the band of the bra I was wearing and could tell INSTANTLY the large wasn’t going to be large enough for me (rib cage, not cup size) To me, they seem to run a bit small. I think the sizing on the package is pretty accurate IF you do not have large breasts. Anything C and under I think the recommended size is good. Anything D or over, I really recommend going one size up. I find the Genie Bra very, very comfortable in the XL. I can’t imagine trying to squeeze into a large which is what the sizing on the pkg says. (I usually buy 38D) I am really tired of spending $40-$50 (and up) for one bra and they still don’t fit quite right. I am very, very happy with the fit, comfort, AND price. 3 for $19.99, love that. It feels a little bit like a sports bra, but not nearly as confining. I think the pad inserts give the cup area more shape. I’m going back for more this week!. Would love to see more colors.
Need to know where I can purchase just the Genie bra pads. My bras went through the washer and dryer with the pads still inside and the pads were damaged. Really like the bras, but feel like I need the padding.
I am 55 years of age and wear a 34 C cup. Over the years I went from underwires to a regular 18 hour bra and was looking for something even more comfortable so I thought I would try the Ahh Bra and the Genie Bra.
Initially I bought an Ahh Bra and loved it so much I went back and bought another; However at $20.00 each I figured I would try the Genie Bra because when you buy the six pack the cost breaks down to $10.00each, a much better buy. I had to order the Genie Bras as they are not sold locally and was able to give the Ahh Bras a fair 6 week trial as I awaited delivery of the Genies.
The Genies were delivered today and I am totally SOLD on the Genie over the Ahh Bras as the Genies are of better quality material, fit better, and I love the fact that they have removable vanity pads as there may be times you would not be comfortable with the nipple showing through; the vanity pads also give a little extra fit and I find myself wearing them all the time.
I give the Genie Bra an A+, definately recommending it over the Ahh bra due to better quality, better fit, and better price.
Hi…so which size did you get for your 34c?
I too am trying to determine the right size Genie Bra to buy for my lady. She is in her late 40′s, is very trim and wears a size 4 top. Her normal bra size is usually 36 C (or sometimes B). Based on the size chart, I am confused whether to buy her a size XS/S or an M. Any suggestions?
I wear a 38DD and bought the size for a 12-14 shirt size. The dang thing nearly strangled me. I exchanged it for the XL/1X. It fits fine. My only complaint is that I have rounded shoulders so the strap part slides off and down my upper arm so I am constantly pulling them up and adjusting them. This to me is a hassle. The support to me is no different than a sports bra. The only difference is that it doesn’t give me uniboob and the pads keep you from having your nipples noticed. So to tell you the truth – I’m still looking for the perfect bra.
I wear (Aussie) 12DD or 14D and have just ordered a medium genie bra – here’s hoping!
Hi Jilly I really hope it fits you but as an Aussie you need to watch out for sizing as everything is geared to US sizes. I’m guessing it will be a bit tight but they do have excellent stretch so fingers crossed.
I’m an Aust size 12 (US 8) also in Aust I’m a Medium (but in USA a Large) and buy 12C bra – I’ve ordered a medium Genie but I did consider getting the Large.
Hope this helps for conversions…
I already have a cheaper Chinese import version of these and the fabric is great, has a medium level of support and is very comfortable. The size I have in this is a large but that was going from their recommendation and it works.
I would say to those having excessive roll-up to get the next size up as that shows the rib width is too tight. The cup size will expand so far that you could wear a size down and it will stretch out to hold you cup wise but as with stretchy things the more you stretch it the more you ‘flog’ it – that is, it won’t return to original size. So if you buy the next size up it will fit better on the ribs and back and the cup won’t stretch so far that it goes thinner although if you go up too big a size you’ll probably jiggle.
Haha typo – where I have the smiley face I had intended to write US size 8 but because I wrote 8 with the bracket next to it I got cool sunglass smile LOL
I bought the Genie Bra from CVS (2 in a pack) and it included the pads. PRO for the bra it is comfortable. CON hate the pads they do not stay in place, they ride up. Without the pads no support and boobs look flat and nipples show through. Can tell the difference if you are wearing with or without the pads. Bra doesn’t have musch support. Will not buy anymore!
AHHH Bras all the way. I am between a 36 C- 38 C and a size 10 on top and the medium fits me perfectly. I love the variety of patterns and colors, and they are so comfortable. I only wear other bras if I am going out and really dressing up. They wash wonderfully, retain their shape, and are a good value. I can’t say enough positive things about them! My teenage daughter wears them as well. But please note that they are NOT sports bras. You would need more support for strenuous exercise.
I just tried to order the Slim N Lift Aire Bra because it seemed like it’d be good and it’s made in Canada…which is where I am…so I wouldn’t have to pay duty or anything….ANYWAY, the deal says that if you buy one set you get the deluxe set free…NOT THE CASE! Everywhere on the site and the commercial that’s what it says BOGO, but when I called they said I had to buy TWO sets to get the deluxe ones free and they were going to charge me $170!!!! Um NOOOO!!! First of all who the heck needs NINE bras??? And who would spend that sort of money without ever trying them on??? So I called customer service and they said the same thing, buy TWO sets and get one free. Why does it say it’s a 2 for 1 deal then?? That’s a three for one deal!!! Then they tried to sell me two sets for $100 to appease me and I said no way! I told them the Genie Bra was a way better deal and I would just go with them……and they just said OK bye! Grrrrr! So much for buying Canadian! Super disappointed to say the least! I guess I’ll be buying the Genie Bra at the Showcase store.
I wear a size 38-40 c cup what size genie bra should I buy?
as for me i dont have the problem.. but for those who do.. maybe it is a self cndcioenfe thing.. but as for the guys.. u know theres alot more to a woman than her breasts. There’s a heart that beats wildly for someone who cares for more about her than her body parts. Eyes that look back at you and may not particuarly like something about you.. but if u have a good personalitly and show some since of heart.. all goes well.. And on the other hand u know some girls just like the attention.. and never plan on letting u find out their secret.. so just avoid all that drama and find a woman ur interested in for who she is.
Would i get support from either of these bras for a size 30FF and what size would fit me?
Hi ladies, I have seen both the Ahh & Genie Bra Infomercials & was wondering which size I should buy. I live in Australia & usually buy Victorias Secret bras in size 36C from the US.. My top/shirt size varies depending on label/brand. Any advice..
I like the ahh bra much better than the genie. I wear a 36B, and the medium ahh bra fits just fine. However, with the genie bra, the medium was too tight. I tried a large and it still fits like a binder. The ahh bra does need modesty pads, and I found some I like on a website called Her Room The band on both of these bras does roll, contrary to their advertisements. I would buy another ahh bra, but not genie.
I have purchased both the Ahh Bra and the Genie Bra, I took the Genie Bra back and got a refund, having worn the Ahh Bra before, I must say that for me, I prefer the Ahh Bra. The difference between them is the Ahh Bra is single layered and the Genie Bra is double layered. The Genie Bra in the same size as the Ahh Bra was way too tight, it held me in like a compression bandage, I even tried the next size larger and it still held me too close, smushed boobies is not what I want to achieve.
For the record, I purchased and wear the Ahh Bra in 1X size. I wear XL to 1X in my tops, my usual bra size I wore a 36DD to a 38DD, I’m middle age so the girls aren’t as perky as they used to be, but they are still in pretty good shape, an average amount of sagging is to be expected. I hate bras, I hate how they feel, the Ahh Bra is a Godsend! I wear mine 24-7, I only take them off to shower or change bras. It feels great, I’m not embarrassed about my nipples showing, they EXIST for gosh sakes, no need to be ashamed of them, I don’t try to show them, I typically wear t-shirts and such, I don’t go out of my way to hide or disguise them either. LOL
I will not say the Ahh Bra is for everyone and that the Genie Bra is horrible, as we all know, we are all built differently and each woman will have to figure out which is best for them. I’d say if you want more structure and support (and nipple hiding), get the Genie Bra, if you want something a bit lighter, but still some support, very comfortable, go for the Ahh Bra. I think if you are a larger lady, the Ahh Bra might work better for you, my friend who is in a G cup purchased the Ahh Bra in 4x and loves them, she had breast cancer and has one breast larger than the other, so buying bras has always been expensive and challenging, the Ahh Bra has worked so well for her, especially since you don’t have to worry about the cup size, having 2 differently sized breasts is not a challenge for the Ahh Bra.
I purchased my Ahh Bras on eBay, there are lots of them for sale there, in many more colors than they offer on the TV. I purchased the Genie Bras in Alco in the “As Seen On TV” section. I noticed that WalMart carries the Ahh Bra in their “As Seen On TV” section, don’t bother looking in the bra section, it will not be there.
Good luck ladies.
Wretha
Wretha, I posted on here a little while ago that I was going to try the Genie bra, but after reading your post, maybe I’ll try the Ahh bra first. I wear the same size shirt as you, and weigh between 140 and 145, but wear a 42C. Go figure. Anyhow, since you bought the 1X in the Ahh bra (and that’s your shirt size), I’m going to try that size too. Thanks for the tip about the “As Seen On TV” section at Walmart. I realize I’m only getting one bra for the same size as two of the Genie bras, but at least I can try it on at Walmart instead of buying it online and taking my chances. I don’t think BB&B has a dressing room, so you have to take the bra home and try it on, then go to the trouble of taking it back and exchanging it for another size, which still might not fit.
I’ll let everyone know how the outcome.
Marti
Marti, thanks for replying to my post
Did you try the Ahh Bra yet? I am sitting and watching their infomercial right now, I don’t like that they show all those wonderful colors but don’t offer them on their website, you can find the pretty colored Ahh Bras on eBay though, that’s where I bought my first set and that is where I’ll go to buy the next ones. I still love my Ahh Bras and I’m glad I bought them first. I weigh more than you do, I’m around 210, at 5’4″, pear shaped. Did I mention I hate bras? This is the first bra I have even really loved wearing, for me it’s the perfect bra, oh and hubby loves how it looks on me too
Wretha
I have both bra’s. There is quite a bit of difference. In an XL with the ahh bra, it does roll up, but it doesn’t ride in the usual bra line on your back, so that’s more comfortable. With the XL genie bra, it rolls less than the ahh bra, but the cups are smaller and I tend to bulge out the top, (not attractive). Just to give it a try, I cut the 2nd inner layer out of the genie bra, and it now has more give in the cup area and fits much better. So the Genie really is more comfortable, but the aahh bra is fits better for bigger breasts.
i have 12 ahh bra’s as i always wear 2 im a 14 dd i just love them i find them cheap as i always had to pay alot for my bras ,the colored pack is fantastic as they look great with singlet tops ,yes they push your breasts togeather but i put a little container inbetween to seperate ,i can now wear tops a little lower now without looking at that horrible bum line, i also like that they hide the under arm fat aswell ,im a size 10 to12 and i ordered a large,i will never look back just love them good luck girls
I have both the genie bra and aah bra. I got the aah bra first comfy fit does roll up some and I have to unroll under the breasts don’t like that the nipple shows threw either. The aah and genie are made with the same material yet the aah feels softer and more stretchy to me. The genie bra seems to give more support and has pads to cover the nipple and seems to give more shape to the breast. I feel the genie bra lifts the breast more and gives better shape I feel a bit flat chested in the aah. The genie bra rolls as well but seems to unroll itself when I straighten with the aah I had to manually unroll. I have found the genie strap behind my shoulder rolls which is my biggest complaint very odd sensation. Overall I prefer the genie bra. Got both at Walmart. The aah was $19.99 for 1 the genie bra was $19.99 for two and came with pads.
Wow. All these responses. Just goes to prove that we girls take our bras very seriously. I have both aah and genie and am a genie girl all the way! I am a medium (37D). I like my bra to feel supportive and the ahh bra just doesn’t do the job. It is comfortable sure – but I would only wear it around the house as it makes my breasts look a bit saggy. The genie bra feels more supportive, gives a better shape and the pads are make it feel more firm and secure. I actually can’t wear any other bra now – I really feel the clips dig into me. Sure the genie bra is not sexy and not great if you want to wear a plunging neckline with great exposed cleavage (but I have a special – going out bra for that). But for everyday wear it is definitely the way to go. The only thing I would suggest is that the company produce more colours! I would love a red one for sure. Go Genie Bra! Oh yeah and make them easier to get in Australia too please!
I just received my Genie Bra size 4X. I am a 38HH and I find the cup portion of this bra NOT generous enough to cover my whole breast. In other words, they hang out the sides a bit and over the top in the front a bit…enough so that if I wore a tighter shirt you would notice it.
However, I have to say this bra is still the most comfortable one I have ever put on! I plan to get a couple more for lounging around the house in. I would never work out in this bra, there is simply not enough support for larger breasts, nor would I wear it out and about because when I bounced up and down a little bit they jiggle all over. But these light support bras are great for lounging.
If you need a work out bra I suggest the Shock Absorber B4490 Level 4 Bra Top or the Enell Sports Bra (which gives you super support but also a uniboob). Both available in very large sizes at lessbounce http://www.lessbounce.com
I don’t know why but I find the UK sites have the best range of very large sizes in both sexy lacy bras and sports bras so I just have them sent across the pond.
Cheers
I am 69 years old and recently lost over 80 pounds in less than a year due to stress from the loss of a 40-year marriage – but that’s another story. Anyway, I used to wear a size 22-24, or anywhere from a 2X to a 4X shirt, which was kind of sloppy but covered my big stomach better. Now I weigh about 140 to 145, depending, but STILL my bra size is a 42C. How can I wear that large of a bra (not talking cup size), when other people here at about the same weight wear about a size 36? My tee-shirt size is either extra large or 1X, depending on how well it covers my stomach, which is still too big, though waaaaay smaller than it used to be. Also, my boobs are very saggy and feel like jello because of losing all the fat that used to be in them. I bought 2 bras at Walmart (cheapies) in a 42C, and they fit fine but don’t hold me up well. I bought the same size at TJ Max, and it holds me up a lot better, but the cup size is a little too big. I’m starting to date again (yes, even us older women still like men), and I’d like to find something that really supports my saggy boobs. I’ve read all the reviews here, and I’m going to try the Genie bra first because I can buy it at BB&B and return it if it’s the wrong size or I don’t like it. I’m thinking about getting the 2X because everyone says the Genie runs small, but then again, would that give me the support I need? I’m thinking about going to a department store where I can actually be fitted for the correct size bra.
I bought an Ah Bra in a large because the package said to go by the size of your shirt. It was to small. My daughter told me that if you are a D or larger to buy the next size up. I went back to the store and bought an XL which fits perfectly. It is a very comfortable bra and my only complaint is that the band rolls. I have not be able to wear a bra for a long time because the underwire hurts so bad and since my breasts are large I hated bouncing all over the place. Unless you are young and firm none of the bras will give you shape. Of course we can always go back to the old style that has shape sewn in but have no give. The TV ads are deceiving also as they are not only sold online. I bought mine at the drug store near my home.
I agree Cynthia the only bra to give support is one with an underwire or you may as well not wear one at all.
The genie bra runs very small. They said order a size down but I was within a size. Its so toght I don’t know if the next larger size would do. Aside from compressing your chect, the pad some out constantly in the wash. So I have to hnad was if I don’t want to out the pad back in every time. It also rolls up. I don’t know how rhet can lie about that!!!!! I’m a 38 B, shirt XL . Buy up, and DON’T BUY ON TV.
I want to buy either the Genie or Aah bra for my mum for XMAS as she has had alot of asthma lately and feels too constricted with normal underwire bras. She does not like anything tight as she has trouble breathing. I am thinking maybe Ahh may be better since it is One layed vs Genie as 2 layered. In tops , she wears Aust size 14 to 16. Do you believe that a Arb bra in L size is the one you would suggest to your mum to wear.. Thanks in advance for your advice
I was skeptical. very skeptical I am an 18E that is around a 44″ bust. Well I can tell you that the Genie Bra does NOT do what is says on the box. It does NOT lift, it does NOT separate and it does NOT flatter you at all, I may as well not have a bra on at all. The fabric is so thin it feels like to top of panty hose, even a sports top like the ones the biggest losers wear gives me more support. Like I said, I was skeptical that this would work and as usual my gut feeling was right. I now cant send them back because no invoice came so I am stuck with a product which is rubbish.
I feel I must warn all you ladies who are thinking of buying to Stop right now!! I bought the Genie bra and it is absolutely useless, it has no support at all, I am bra size 34DD and I bought size L, it is too small and gives me no shape, I cannot wear it.
46-H
32-R-S US (30″ ribs, 46″ bust) 32 K-L UK. sizes
So, can anyone tell me if these any brand of these bras would fit? I looked at the XL in store and there is noway…
It seems to me that since every woman has a different body that with something like lingerie, if you want to find out info about the bra so badly, just buy it from an establishment that will take a return in the event you don’t like it. You won’t be out any money, and you’ll save the time you’re wasting getting frustrated trying to find useless information (or lack thereof) on the internet.
FWIW, the Genie Bra company suggests sizing according to your band size (measuring your ribcage, not the fullest part of your breast, of course) and purchasing accordingly. If you are a C cup or larger, they say to go one size bigger after that.
Also, if you catch this today QVC is having a huge sale on them and no I don’t work for them. Just helping you all out.
Just noticed the Genie Bra website doesn’t give the same measurements as QVC does. They seem to be more accurate -
32-35 band would be a Small
36-37 Medium
38-40 Large
that’s all I remember offhand unfortunately. I am a 38H and would size a 1X of course I’m not buying them because there is no way these monsters will be supported.
I wear a size 38D. I bought a package with 2 Genie bras for $19.99…1 black 1 nude. According to the back of the box I would wear a large. The black bra fits, the beige is so tight that I have divets in my shoulders. It also smooshes my boobs together and it looks like I have a huge boobshelf under my chin. LOL The sizes on the internet are printed differently. I wrote to Genie twice and rec’d no response. I say BOOOOOO.
I live in the UK and am considering buying an Aah bra. My size is 36FF and I have not seen any sizeing to compare. Has anyone got any advise on what size to buy and if the purchase would hold such heavy breasts.
Sent for Genie Bra off High Street Shopping TV channel I was told to get same
size as my dress size 16, it arrived, tried it on miles too small couldnt put a piece of paper in between my boobs at the front, roll under my armpits was quite large ,and I could see the band was going to roll, came in Saturdays post to-day is monday already posted back, absolutely miles too small My Bra size is 38D Think advert is completely misleading . Learnt my lesson, so Buyer Beware.
The Genie Bra is a ffffffffake too small for anyone. They gurantee for 60 days or money back no such thing they wait untill all transactions take 60 days and you do not get your money back It is a fraud They charge so much for shipping and handling you can buy other bras at the store. Beware Remember they pay people to say they are great. I noticed most of the replys are negative so what does this tell you.Ver unsatified customer.
I’ve read through pretty much every review here and I’m not sure I want to try either of them. I am a 40DDD and cannot wear wired bras they all jab me under my arms even without bending over and I’ve had to many wires break through and stab me. All I can wear are this one single bra by platex ( can never find my size in any other ones they have) that doesn’t have an underwire and is ok but as bigger busted woman surely know the don’t last long and for the money you spend it’s a shame. I don’t want to have to wear two bra’s at once that is just a crazy concept to me. I just don’t understand why bra company’s cannot figure out a better support system for us bigger woman
Yes I want them to be comfortable but I want support to without looking as if i have a watermelon taped to my chest.
I purchased the Genie Bra in both Large & X Large sizing to try out both & thought it was an absolute waste of money & time waiting for it to arrive in the mail. Although I am an average weight ever since I started developing I have always had a heavy set bust. So as you can imagine it can be very difficult & frustrating finding a bra that looks good & feels comfortable. When I saw the add on TV for the Genie Bra I was really excited about trying them & had hope that I might have found a decent bra for once. I’m in between 16DD- 18DD Australian bra size depending on the bra make & brand which would be 38DD- 40DD in US sizing. When I tried on the bras I was very disappointed in them & felt like they were nothing like what they are made out to be like on TV. The bottom of the bra doesn’t stay down it kept rolling up & I was constantly having to adjust it & pull it back down. I also found wearing the bra through out the day I would start getting spillage with the bra at the top & at the sides near my underarm & was having to tuck myself back in a little. I found the bra didn’t give me a nice shape which is important in a bra. I looked more flat & my breast mushed together inside giving me a very unflattering cleavage line. I tried adding the insertable pads and they made my breasts look even bigger then what they already are which was something I didn’t want already being big busted & it didn’t seem to change the way my beast shaped in the bra to much at all. The worst thing about the Genie bra was the support which is the most important thing about your bra. I didn’t get as much lifted effect as what I needed & was looking for in this bra at all. And there is no possible way I could trust using it as a sports. There is definitely not enough support to class it as a sports bra my breasts would be going all over the place. The only thing I would probably ever use this bra for is to wear to bed or around the house to be more comfortable without under wire & where it didn’t matter on the look of your bra. I’m not even going to bother trying out the Ahh Bra as it’s pretty much the same product & can’t imagine it having much of a significant difference anyway. I think if you have more of a petite or smaller breast size this bra would probably be ideal for some women but I through my personal experience I don’t think this bra is suitable or does much for the bigger busted ladies out there.
I had the same experience with spillage from top and sides…and somewhat from the bottom too. After only 30 min with it on…Im taking it off! No Ahh bra for me either…they are too much the same
The Genie Bra rolls up terribly and to me is not comfortable. i have not tried the Ahh Bra yet but am very disappointed regarding comfort. The bottom band needs to be a bit longer and wider. I have done nothing but pull at it all day. I wear a 36 C bra and bought the Large. Off it goes.
I bought the Genie bra for $19.99…good price, if I keep them. They did come with pads which I found to be very strange, no extra support, just a lump wherever they sit (no nipples show though), I am a 38DDD and bought the 2xl because the package size stated so since I wear a size 16-18 top. I did see online afterwards that for my actual cup size I should get the 3xl. I am not impressed so far. I do have a uni-boob, there is NO lift and separation, and in fact my boobs are hanging lower than usual. I am wearing it now and my back is starting to ache a bit. I did remove the pads and my boobs no longer bulge out of the sides. The bra in the ads comes much further down the torso than mine does…mine is right up under my breasts, and in fact as I just checked, my boobs are now actually sliding out from the bottom band a bit I’m not sure if going up a size would help or not…Im worried that then it will be too big everywhere else. Also the straps are bunching up, they dont stay flat on my shoulders. I think this bra would be a good choice to wear on days when you are just staying at home and just need something on so the girls aren’t freely swinging around, but thats about all. I am overall dissappointed and would give the bra a 2 out of 5. Probably very nice for small busted woman…A or B cups only.
It might help others to decide which size to buy if you also list the measurements of your band size and bust.
I usually get an underwire with padding (38B). I do, however, tend to peel it off the second I walk in the door.
I purchased the Genie Bra last night at Bed, Bath and Beyond for $19.99 and using one of their 20% off coupons. So for $16.00 you get a black and beige bra both with padding. Feels pretty good support-wise. Not quite as much padding as I prefer (I suppose I could double up the padding) but very comfortable and doesn’t dig into my shoulders. It does roll up a bit at the bottom in the front, but not in the back. I tried it on with a clingy top, and it does seem to conceal the back-fat pretty well….I got an XL because I usually wear size 12-14. I don’t think I’d want it any smaller, or bigger. Does feel a bit like a sports bra but with definate more curves.
So far, so good. I’m waiting for the Spanx I ordered in the mail (most popular thigh up to bra, $40 delivered) ….Who needs to diet?
This may be off-topic…but please, for the love of god, edit before you publish on the web. Spelling and grammatical errors everywhere. It doesn’t help your credibility in a review when the review reads like a 10-year-old wrote it, or perhaps someone without a grasp of English.
That being said, I agree with other posters…I want to know more specifics. Not just generalizations. I find the other posters have offered more info on the two different bras than the actual review itself. To be honest, I don’t think I will be ordering either one – sounds like they are nothing more than glorified sports bras. So back to the drawing board I go to find a decent, comfortable bra for DDs. Sigh.
Hi
Can anyone help me.I am a 38g and want to buy the airebra-slimnlift.have no
idea if I should order large or extra large.
Thanks…………
Hey Sig,
I’d definitely order the Large if your a 38g. I’m I bigger bra size then you (40D) & my boobs fit into a size large just fine. You might even get away with ordering a medium.
Hi,
I have the Genie Bra. I am a 14G so small around but very bit boobs. I initially purchased the L in the Genie bra but found it a bit tight. So these I gave to my daughter who had just had her first baby. She is size 8 around and a D cup she finds them very comfortable and won’t wear anything else. The bras confomed to her ever changing bust size as she was breast feeding for quite awhile but now is not. My other daughter is a 10 C and won’t wear any other bra she wears a Medium.
Since I gave the L to my daughter I purchased xxL and very happy with this size. The band does roll a bit but not enough to be uncomfortable. I actually look better in the Genie Bra than I do my old favourite underwire bra. I have alot more support and didn’t realise how much until the other day when I ran out of bras and wore the underwire. They are great to wear under V neck shirts/dress and T-shirts. I am teacher and with the constant lifting of arms it is brilliant not to have to pull up straps. If I am going to be doing physical activity during the day I wear a second bra to get rid of all the bounce. It works wonderfully.
I hope this review is of assistance.
I am a size 12B (Australia) but with a broad back, so I always have to wear a bra extender. Does anyone think the Aah or Genie would be any good for me?
Hey Vera,
BigW have the Aah bra so if you want you can go and try it there (I did) that way you can see your sizing. I don’t like the material as it is too thin, am seriously thinking of trhyin the Genie bra with the pads. I would do what one of the other ladies said though and measure yourself first and go by your measurements and not shop your top.
Hi Ingrid
Having just read all the posts, have come to the conclusion i really need to try before i buy. I was just wondering if anyone in Australia knew of any shops that sell either bra, and there, right at the end was your post. I’m off to BigW tomorrow! Thanks for the tip.
If anyone knows of a shop that sells the Genie bra that would be great.
Happy shopping ladies
I am a 42 DD and have been large busted since Jr High so always looking for good bras. I got two 1X genie bras in the as seen on TV section of Walgreen’s for 20 dollars. I loved them so much I went back for 2 more the same week. It is now my everyday bra inside and outside the home, usually I find comfortable ones are not supportive enough to wear out of the house. I see one woman comments she is a 46DD but bought a 3X then complains it isn’t supportive. I think maybe people just need to read how to size better or she was never sizing properly to begin with which is common. I found it easier than normal bra sizing cuz I just bought the same size as most clothes I wear. I did remove the pads that came with mine because for bigger busted women the cupping on the pads sits funny and doesn’t look right. I have larger nipples that can be a problem so I was concerned about that but so far I haven’t noticed an issue. This bra seems to hold everything in place and no embarrassing nipple show. Feels more natural and comfortable while still being appropriate for public wear. I haven’t tried the ahh bra so not much input except that my genie bra eliminated the back fat rolls traditional bras create too.
Thank God I purchased via Amazon at a much reduced price. I bought the ‘oooerrrr? Bra’ which provides absolutely no support whatsoever. it’s a glorified bed bra. Last year I had a breast reduction from G to DD. My boobs now hold their own with no thanks to Rhonda Shear!!!! Ladies – if you want a good bra, go to a good shop and get fitted out properly.
Just took my genie bra out of the wash, disappointed that after 6 months of very comfortable wear one has fallen apart. Probably time to order some more.
I have been buying bras similar to the aah bra for many years from Big W in Australia, for a lot cheaper than the tv versions. I normally buy about a size 14b and these stretch bras (Allsorts brand at the moment) retail for about $12. Last few times I went to Big W they had few in stock so will have to check if they are replacing them with the Aah Bra which they are now selling. I wash these bras in a lingerie bag and they last me about 6mths before the elastic starts to erode. They offer light support only but are great if you hate underwire, bra clasps that do up on the back, straps that dig in and bras that show under your clothing.
I ordered the Genie Bra arrived quickly, I ordered too small. I had to measure across my chest to get right fit.It took weeks for it too arrive back exchanged for larger size.Im happy with my Genie bra its so comfortable, and ya got to have the pad inserts they are a must.Great to sleep in as well. They are not a sports bra.
I don’t even know why they came out with these bras bc they don’t give you that lift like they say . I have both and I am a 38D and the bras make my top look smaller and no lift . They are good to wear around the house but not out if you don’t want people looking at your nipples . I will never get them again . They suck .
I am wondering if any of you ladies are from Australia? We have different bra and clothes sizing so I am still confused after reading these comments. I am a larger figure – I wear an Australian size 20D bra and Size 22 T-shirt. What do I do?
Hi Lesley
I have been reading though these comments myself, some comments seems to be Australian but most dont seem to be using our sizing… im a little larger 24DD
I found the Geniebra main site,
https://www.geniebra.com.au/
If the above link doesnt show, go to: www geniebra (dot) com and click the aussie flag. this will take you to the aussie site..
click on sizing which shows you the sizing for Australians. 127 -135 cm is X3 size
Im looking at purchasing the 3 and getting the 3 free deal which is 6 all up.
Even if i use them around the house i dont see $59.95 AUD being a huge cost for 6 bra or sport bra tops for home ware.
i tried on the Genie bra in a size 4x since I wear a 48dd bra, and ya know how ya have a muffin top on ya belly. well I had a muffin top on my genie bra…………boobs were hanging over not good for a 48dd big bust girl I can tell ya.
I guess I will stay with the under wire bras…….
If they make any more bra’s ,they need to make one that lifts and fits a bigger gal better, than these, their great for smaller breast, but not for larger gals………….
sooooooooooo sorry but true.
i purchased the genie bra and a freind who had a breast removed from cancer tried one she loves it as she can put her inplant into the pouch and finds it most comfortable however we were messed around a bit wih reordering when the stitching came undone and we wanted them replaced
The Genie Bra was no good for me – I purchased the 3XL which stated it would fit a size 26 – 28 shirt size which I am and it didn’t come close. The bras actually fit my 15 year old daugher and she is a size 14 shirt…how do they get off saying that they fit the larger size women when it didn’t even come close to fitting me…ridiculous
To overcome rollup I turned the band up and stitched it round to make a shorter slighty thicker band you need to use correct stretchy machine foot but if you don’t sew the alterations shops will do it for you. I agree that should shouldn’t need to, for those that are going to say that in reply , but hey it worked and now I have comfy bras that don’t roll up.
I just bought the xlarge Genie Bra and it fits like the sport bra’s I have tried. It makes me look as if I have one large breast with line down the middle. I would really like a comfortable bra that seperates also.
After researching I decided the Genie bra was for me. I went to Bed and Bath and brought the 2 bras with my 20% off coupon. What a disappointment!!! The bra really flattens and rides up unbelievably. They must use some type of trick photography to make the people look as good as they do on TV. I agree with alot of the information that I read on this site. You have to go up at LEASTone size if not 2. There is no way ANY of their bras would fit the women that they show on TV. What a rip-off!
The only thing AHH about this ahh bra is that I lost 20 dollars AHH!
I wish I had MORE support in my genie bra, do the pads supprt? I feel like its a gllorified sports bra, also I am a large woman (4 x) and my bands roll a LOT. One of the black bras I recieved in my original order is very small, it cuts me in half, the other one is fine. I am going to toss the smaller one because it is VERY uncomfortable. The other 5 are fine. What can I do to get more support?
I have read through the comments, and my question has not been mentioned. I am a bilateral mastectomy lady. Can the slits in the Genie bra fit a prosthesis? I wear a size 1x shirt. Because my mastectomies were at different times, my prosthetics are different sizes, as they took lymph nodes from one side and none from the other. Can anyone address this queston? Thank you
I would think they could. I have had a lumpectomy on one side and i take extra pads (3) and put in slots to make up size difference. I love these bras. They are the most comfortable bras ever. I would go to store and buy the Genie bra and see if they fit. Very pleased with mine. Good luck
There IS no difference at all. HSN & QVC are the same company. When Suzanne Summers got breast cancer and worked for QVC , HSN promptly copied or “knocked off” her Derma Wand and sold it under another name on QVC. Subsequently, Suzanne Somers began working on ShopNBC no relation.
Rhonda Shear had exclusive rights to the Ahhhhh bra with 5 “h’s. She did an infomercial with HSN and used HSN’s manufacturer. Big mistake. They stole her exact bra and put it for half price on QVC. They used the Dermawand woman and used the same infomercial and put her in Rhonda’s place as a Genie to confuse everyone because during the ‘UP ALL NIGHT” series Rhonda dressed like dream of Genie. This way everyone would think both bras were Rhonda’s even though they were stealing her product.
Rather than lose her HSN contract, Rhonda acted civilly and just got screwed by the company she works for. Genie bra added claims that were unsubstantiated and charged less and tried to wipe her out. Rhonda got the ahh “2 h’s” and worked on making herself better rather than suing and tearing them down. She now has the Walmart account.
I would encourage everyone to shun the Genie bra even though it is a little cheaper. Same manufacturer same everything, but Rhonda’s is no tieif and the extra money goes to Breast Cancer Research.
No difference. Just QVC stealing another account .
I ordered my genie bra via canada and I recieved my 3 bra’s in 4 days. I am very happy with them and will be ordering more. My friends have also tried them on and ordered them. It only cost me $39.89 australian this was for the same deal that is offered on TV. Very happy costomer.
the downlow:
1) with COD charges to Canada from the US of 31$(+71$ for the bras.txincl)
= almost same price at Walmart in Canada (and you can start with just 2 to try,
for 28$+tx….no shipping, no COD)
2) ordering through their website gave no option for padded bras
(didn’t even know they existed til a couple days later when I was in Walmart,
they’re sold at the front, near the cashiers in the as seen on tv section)
3) you can call them to exchange for padded
(they said the website should of given the option for padded, -but it did not
-mine do not have any pockets to put any pads in at all).
4) its not worth the COD charge to do the exchange.
(I would be paying more than the ones I wish I’d just bought at Walmart.
…if only I saw them first.)
5) so they aggreed to refund me 26$
(ok)
6) I’ll buy a set of padded genies at Walmart to try, but I can say the unpadded aren’t
sexy like my push ups….and I love my sexy push ups.
And yes, the genie looks like a sports bra, though I’m not thinking it would work
to work out in either….and not something I wear in public.
My unpadded genies will be given to my older mom and “i hate bras” hippy sis.
i have had multiple problems with bras. the only one i have found that is confortable and holds me was a nursing bra until i found a Genie Bra. I found them at Target and at Walmart in the “As seen on TV” section. I wear a 38 DD and have tons on curves! I bought my genie bras 2 for 14.99. I bought the XL ones with the removable pads and LOVE them! I did of course remove the pads because the pads were not big enough to cover the required area. My husband loves them too. I was the one cursed with the “not so perky” ones yet now they are looking better then ever. I went out and bought a total of 3 packages so 6 total bras because i have never been so comfortable or “perky” before. I love my genie bras.
The GENIE BRA is sold at WALMART< WALGREENSTARGET>KMART and SHOPKO. PLEASE CHECK THE AS SEEN ON TV SECTION.
I am a 42/D, BUT have had a breast reduction, therefore my scars are very sensitive making it impossible for me to wear an underwire bra. I have tried Victoria Secret bras, Platex, you name it, I have tried all of them. After seeing the Genie Bra advertisement, and my mom and dad both mentioning it to me, I decided to give them a try. I called, ordered by my shirt size which was a 1X/2X depending on the shirt, and waited……and waited…and waited. They were on back order, when they finally came in, I was extatic thinking I had found the perfect bra, FINALLY!!!!! OH, HOW WRONG was I, they came with the pad inserts as advertised, but were snug. I thought, well, I will give one a try and see how it feels and if I like it, I will know to order a 2X and give these to my sister. After a day full of tugging at the rolling bottom, and NO support What So Ever, I was beyond upset, and once more at a loss for bras. I gave the bras that I had just spent dang near $80 on to my sister who is a 34C, and they fit her perfectly. Ladies, please heed this warning, if you are a bigger breasted woman, DO NOT buy the Genie Bra. I thought I might give the AHH BRA a try, but after reading the reviews on it, I don’t think I will.
I bought Genie bras about a year ago. I will never wear a regular underwire again. The bras are so fabulous, hold their shape after washing and drying and they are comfortable enough to sleep in. They don’t roll, ride up or dig into my shoulder. Where have these bras been all my life!
the Genie Bra on the commercial was to me false advertisement it does not fit bigger woman like myself..I have a larger cup size then normal and to me the Genie Bra did not do what it was suppose to do according to the commercial. My boyfriend basically wasted his money buying them for me i tried a 3xL it was too big tried a L and it was to small so i tried a 2x/L and i take the pads out and it doesn’t lift them up i put them in and my breasts fall out in the top..it must only fit smaller cup sizes
I agree with you 100%!! I purchased the Genie Bra in both Large & X Large sizing to try out both & thought it was an absolute waste of money & time waiting for it to arrive in the mail.
I have been eye-balling these Genie and Ahhhh bras for quite some time now. I finally broke down and ordered the Ahhhh bras today. I specifically told the gentleman on the phone that I did not want “the uni-boob” look. (I’m a DDD.)
We live in Podunk Nowhere, and I’m unwilling to drive 3 hours one-way over mountains to bra shop. Bra shopping is a miserable enough experience without having to add 6 hours round-trip of drive time.
When I receive them and try them on, I will stop back into this site and let y’all know how well they do (or do not) perform. Bear in mind, I’m a DDD,
A picture is worth a thousand words
Where do I buy these genibras with insert pockets? I wear a medium or large shirt depending on the price / manufacture. I wear a 38 B or 36 C bar again depending on manufacture. I am senior with 4 children so they are gravity effected.
The Ahh bra is really comfortable as long as you don’t squeeze yourself into a smaller size or wear a bigger size than you need. It is very comfortable and supportive at the same time. I wear mine at the gym and it is firm enough to provide good support.
I have tried all these so called “perfect bras” from the arhh bra, genie bra & the newest one out at the moment the smart bra. All of them are nothing like what they are made out to be like on TV. They are far from a wonder bra. LETS FACE IT LADIES…. I don’t think there really is any such thing as a perfect bra that we can honestly say we have no problems with at all when wearing them. So don’t be sucked in to believing the bullshit you hear on these TV adds when they say it’s a perfect bra. They were nothing like what they are made out to be. We all now the people on the adds are getting paid for it and at the end of the day it’s just their job. I think the only thing we can do is go to a proper bra shop that help you with sizing and bra fitting, shop around and try to find the best one we can that suits our support and comfort needs in a bra. I’d rather pay out for an expensive bra this way then pay the same amount for one of the TV add bras.
there is the big w brand stretch bra as it looks like the elastic stitching in it is much tighter plus it only cost 15 dollars rather than a very loose fitting baggy ahh bra which costs $25 i know which one im gonna get.
Wow what great reading! I am a heavier set woman. My bra size is 44DDD. My shirt size is 2X. I bought an Ahh Bra months ago at walmart. I luv this bra! I was very concerned that at Walmart the biggest size for the Ahh Bra was L/XL. But I decided I would try it. Again I luv it! I do not have trouble with rolling. I luv that the underarms of the bra are higher (No underarm fat bulge!). Being a big breasted woman since being a teen I have to say I get tired of it myself! So having my breasts more modest with this bra is a godsend to me! Do I have clevage? Yes but not a large amount. Do I have a unibreast? NO. I had ordered 6 of the genie bra’s about 6 months ago because I wanted to try them. After waiting forever I got an email telling me my order had been cancelled! I was so upset because I was waiting and waiting! I called Genie bra and they couldn’t tell me why my order was cancelled. So I was googling tonight to look for some deals on the Genie bra’s and found this site. I have read every single post and I am sure glad I did! I will NOT be buying the Genie bra’s after all. I am going to stick with the Ahh Bra. So I am off to find some deals on the Ahh Bra now! hahha!
Ladies with larger breasts the Ahh Bra is a very good comfy bra. Don’t be afraid to try one! Trying one is better than not trying it and always wondering. You know everyone is build differently. So 10 people could say here they hate this one or that one but it’s up to YOU to decide.
Go to Walmart try them on! At least you will know what size then you can look online for better deals if you like!
Thank you all for helping me decide to stick with my Ahh Bra!
Blessings
Lori
I bought these because I hate wearing my regular bras around the house, I want to be comfortable at home. I’m a 38C, so going braless at home isn’t comfortable either, plus, at 30 gravity is sneaking up on me.
The ahh bra is the perfect solution for me. Provides enough support that I’m not swinging around and there aren’t any wires or clasps to dig in anywhere, as well, it’s comfortable to move around and I don’t feel “strapped in” like with sports bras.
I was right on the border of sizes between Med & Lrg, and decided to go with the medium after reading the reviews here about some lack of support, plus the material is very stretchy so it is still very comfortable.
The material is quite thin, so I don’t see myself wandering around in public with just a t-shirt over top, as I would be concerned about a breeze. However, I have worn them out for a quick errand under a shirt AND jacket
I bought two Genie bras at CVS (2 for $19.99) for my 18 year old daughter who is a professional bra hater. She would rather go braless than be uncomfortable. The Genie bras fit her perfectly, support and separate AND have never rolled up…EVER. Very well made and very comfortable. We are pleased:)
PS: There are reputable sellers on Ebay that sell both the Genie and the Ahh bras for as little as three for $19.00 with free shipping. After reading all these comments, I am ordering three Ahh bras today and in TWO sizes larger than my shirt size……If I don’t love them I can send them back!
Well girls, after reading all your comments, and very much wanting to buy one of these bras I went to Big W in Melbourne, Australia, to try an Ahh bra on. I nearly bought one on ebay last night, that was only $9, but I decided that $9 was still $9, and I was not prepared to throw money away on rubbish. Some of you say its great and some of you say that it is total garbage. So I wanted to see for myself. I am a fairly fit 57 year old with size 12 (34) EE breasts. I am slim, but as you can see, am well-endowed.
So I tried on a Large, as I wear 12 T-shirt (Australian sizing). I didnt have time to try any other size.
Pros: Exceptionally comfortable – like wearing nothing. Also no leakage of boob.
Cons: Like wearing nothing i.e. no support, very thin material – so almost transparent, and the overall look, once I put my T-shirt over it, was that I was not wearing a bra. Not a nice look. Also, as I am big up top, when I try a new bra on, I always jump. A good sign of a good bra, is very little jiggle. “Jiggle” would be too kind a word to what happened when I jumped wearing the Ahh bra.
The infommercials lie (as they usually do). These bras are not meant for big girls of any description. Yes, if you need to sleep with a bra, this would be ideal. But for nothing else, except a rag, maybe, to clean the bathroom with.
I am so glad I had the sense not to buy it online.
Because we are all so different, a bra is one of those items you need to try on, unless you have bought that make before and been happy with it. And remember girls, once worn, these bras cannot be returned. So don’t waste your money.
I purchased the Genie Bra according to my shirt size XL and had a lot of trouble with the bottom rolling and of all things the “girls” tending to start their way south. I contacted the Genie Bra customer service, explained my situation and was told to order a size larger. I did go and buy the 2XL and still have the same problem…so much for their helpful advice. I am a 42DD by the way..I have not actually fallen out of the bra but spend quite a bit of time pulling the band down and lifting the “girls” back up into position. I really am doubting there is a comfortable bra out there for the larger woman.
I recently purchased on line 2 sets of AAH BRAS and I am delighted with them.
I suffered a seious stroke 3 years ago and lost mobility on my left arm and side. Therefore it is a godsend to be able to finally wear a bra that is so easy to put on. Also I am a large busted lady and have always had trouble buying uncomfortable bras in the past. I have not tried the Genie bra yet, but after all the comments that I have just read I think I will stick with my lovely AHH BRA!
Many thanks to them and the team! Rita
My daughter purchase the AHH BRA for me as a Christmas present. Being so excited and on top of it this year, she actually did her shopping in November. If only I could be so organized. Well, her big mistake. NO WHERE in the order process did she realize it had to be returned within 30 days. She purchesed it Nov 11, so she was beyond the 30 days by the time Christmas even happened. As with many families we have people everywhere and again, unfortunately for my very excited daughter, we were not able to get together to exchange gifts until mid-January. The Bra’s did NOT fit, so their sizing is WAY OFF, and I returned them. Now the company is telling me that my daughter will not get her money back because we are over the 30 days.
If you are planning to purchase as a gift to someone DON’T unless you know you are 100% sure you have time to present the gift and return it if it does not fit.
If you are planning to purchase for yourself, TRY it on immediately so you can return it “for any reason”. Just remember, their policy DOES NOT state it has to be returned within 30 days, but it DOES.
Genie is great for cross dressers
Feel ao sexy I get hard on quicker and I come more
I think the important thing to remember is, that when these companys make a product they focus on 1 maybe 2 perfect fittings, everything else will just be extensions of the original size they model it on.
Furthermore, EVERYONE, doesn’t matter who you are, what your bust size is, what your band size is, will either have success or failure with one or the other brand…why? because we are all shaped differently…its got very little to do with your actual boob size. its about how much weight your carrying, about how narrow your shoulders are, what level your boobs sit at, how much your tummy sits out under your boobs. goes on and on.
Those that have have had issues with spillage, roll up and in general not having them fit properly, its not only about poor size choice…hows your posture? how much boob are you trying to fill into the fabric? are you barrel chested? Broad back? Do you have excess weight on your upper arms? All contribute to poor results.
Before you all get defensive, i’m a larger lady, but my shape has always dictated what clothes i wear, not my size alone. I’m a 20DD i would a 2X Aah bra and i personally would go a size up next time, i had a bit of roll up but any wire free bra does that on me because of the shape of my torso (under my boobs.) I would imagine if i went a size lower there would be a gap between the band and me due to my boobs filling the fabric so much it expands the band. At the moment im ok with the size i bought but others wouldn’t be .My advise is to assess what you are trying to do, are you’re expectations of this product out of touch?
The “sizes” will always differ from brand to brand, from country to country, as i said before, simply cutting a pattern larger or smaller doesn’t mean it will fit you better, we go in and out at different spots. Why do you think some of the big name brands only produce clothes from 8-14…because its easier for them to mass produce a product with a limited “stretch” of the original pattern, they can’t guarantee a larger size is going to work. That goes for larger cup sizes, just because your a 8 doesn’t mean that the same bra with a cup size of F or H is going to “look” how they intended it, so they don’t bother.
I hate going on holiday in asia as it makes me feel like a freaking giant, but conversley my husband is asian and he ends up buying from the teenage section in Australia as mens Aus size small is huge!
Try everything at least once. You never know!
(ps sorry for the block of text)
I am 32-34 and B-C cup size. Got Genie bra Medium size from BBB last week.
I actually wanted to buy a small but was out of stock in store. Medium fits decently well. Rolls under but not so much. Gets a little tight around rib and uncomfortable at the end of the day.Looks good for work clothes. Bought more M sizes today hoping they will last long the same way they did on day 1. However if you are the same size as me, try xs/s first and then M for a day or 2 then decide.
I’m live in Australia and I bought the Ahh Bra from Big W. I’m a D cup size and I have found that it doesn’t give you a lot of support or separation (the material is very thin). It is however, very very comfortable and washes well- holds shape, but the band at the bottom does roll up a bit. Overall, comfy with light support, great for wearing around the house.
I just love my Geni Bra’s except when I got them it was 3 for 59 dollars.
So I like to buy 6 more for the 29 dollar price.
Can I recieve them by Friday of this week as my Granddaughter will be leaving the country Fri. May 25th?
She needs 3 large and 3 x-large bra’s
Thank you, cll me at 480-*****
The Genie bra It’s so misleading !!! It said it would give u cleavage blah blah blah and nothing ! The band on the bottom rolls up and is just uncomfortable I rather stick to my Target bras !!! Waste of money everyone!
So is the Aire Bra similar to the Genie and Ahh bra? Anyone tried it out?
i tried the ahh bra. I have rather large boobs and the shop your top trick didn’t work. I had to go the biggest size they sold and the cups where to small. It offered no support what so ever and i really mean that!!!! i wouldnt even wear it at home or to bed. It would have been a total waste of money!!
my mum bought one. She has c cups and her boobs still had no support and where pushed out to the side.
The only thing that I see wrong with a Genie Bra is that you need to pad the Shoulder Strap.
I purchased the Genie Bras w/removable pads at my local drugstore.
I am not impressed w/ it. My job requires me to pretty much sit all day long. I drive for a living.
Within 2 hrs I am either unrolling the bottom band, trying to adjust the straps or flat out readjusting the whole bra.
I have also noticed that the fabric has these little burrs on the outside from rubbing against my T-shirts
The Genie bra is almost as uncomfortable as an underwire. Sure am glad I waited for them to hit the shelves, at least I saved the Shipping fees.
I don’t get it girls. I just bought my Genie Bras at Stage Stores and wore one today. I am a 40DD and I do not have any straps cutting into my shoulder and I have no roll up in the front. The ones I purchased came with the pads, which I left in because I did not want to show the nipples. The only “complaint” I have is they should have more color choices as well as “white” included in the packages. I have never had a bra that is as comfortable as my Genie Bra and I live in Arizona with the heat and sometimes humidity like right now during our monsoon season. I plan on buying a couple more but from the website so I can get white and I am sure I will be as pleased with them as the black/nude that I purchased earlier. I have not tried the Ahhh Bra but why should I when I am so satisfied with the Genie Bras!!
I like the Aah bra because it is extremely comfortable with a little more support than the Bali crop top bras (formerly Barely There crop top) which are my all time favorite. However, neither of those are acceptable for work because they don’t leave much to the imagination — I’m not happy with the way my boobs are just hanging out there and kind of drooping down. If I wear a loose top I can get away with them, but otherwise I prefer the Genie bra for work because it tucks my boobs back in and up and they are no quite so obvious. Although it is not as comfortable and eventually after a few washes the band does roll up underneath. I’m a 36B size, but I have found I have to wear an XL Genie bra because they are so tight, whereas I can get away with a medium Aah Bra, and a small Barely There crop top. For at home and weekends I like the size medium and large Barely There and the Large Aah Bra, but Genie bra is not an option when I am trying to relax! It comes off the minute I come home from work!
I recently purchased the genie bra for my daughter who wears a 2X. I made the purchase at Walmart. I would like to let you know that the lace trim started tearing from the bra as soon as she was putting it on. The straps also need more reinforcement. For me it was a waste of money. When I called the company, the lady that I was taking to told me to take the bra back to the store. I told her that I didn’t have my receipt but I still have the box. Anyway, I will just chalk this up as a lost and after reading these reviews I will never buy another genie bra nor will I try the ahh bra after reading these reviews. I am extremely disappointed.
I bought Genie bra. Best bra i have ever had and will buy more soon. Have had lumpectomy and can even out sides with the extra pads. So soft and comfortable and wash great.
I like both the Ahh Bra & the Genie Bra. The Genie seems to be softer and I do like the “privacy” of the Genie Bra because I don’t want nor like everyone seeing the headlights when I get cold. I do wish more colors were available in the stores for both brands.
Well I haven’t purchased my Genie Bra yet but I am going to try and find a store where I can at least try one to see how it fits. Worst case scenario being a comfortable something to do housework in or just to walk for exercise (the dogs don’t notice anything past a hug and a good run..)
Some comments have been concerned about colour… well if you are a Genie fan.
here is the site in Canada and there are sets of colours from b&w to pastels and bright summer shades…
I am off tomorrow to see if I can find one at least to try and will get a selection from this site should the week-long ” try out ” prove a success.
We are all the same and all different at the same time. a bra needs to fit better than your shoes…. they can be removed under the table when they pinch!!
For a regular bra underwire or just a great fitting cotton bra no wire, I have always been a fan of Warner, for me they have been most comfortable and very “supportive”
However they are very pricey (almost as much as 6 Genies) for one, and now a fixed income has me looking for something that can give me the comfort and support I have been used to.
I shall give this the ” old college try” and a fair assessment from my perspective.
Thank you all for your contributions it has given me a lot of information and I am grateful for all the input ….
I had just spent $70 buying four traditional wired bras, and was finding them to be terribly uncomfortable. I had an Ahh Bra previously which was comfortable and offered reasonable support. I saw a pack of three Genie Bra’s with inserts for $50, which is cheap for these in Australia, and on impulse bought them. The minute I took off the old bras and put on the Genie I experienced a relief from pain that had been in my back, and I was blown away by the comfort. They seem to be thicker than the Ahh Bra and offer superior support. I am a D-DD and they give me cleavage and definition which other bras don’t. I love my Genie Bras and recommend them to anyone. Better than the Ahh Bra, which retail at Big W here for $30 each, and so comfortable. The waist band does roll up, but this is not an issue. You barely feel it.
if you shop on HSN.com they now sell an ahh bra that has removable pads to hide the cold weather nipple show!
I live in Norway and read this discussion with interest. I hate bras so much that I have gone without most of the time, but as I have passed 50 years I realize I need support when I am outside the house. No bra has ever fitted me, terrible to wear. Then when I saw Genie bra and Aire bra on TV-shop I wanted to try, both with pads and Aire bra has blondes, too. Hope you understand my English…! I use D-cup and T-shirt size XXL (50/52 in Norwegian size), so I ordered both bras in size 3XL. The genie bra first arrived in the 3 colors. It was tight and rolled up and no separation, but still the most comfortable bra I have ever tried, and good support. Some days later the Aire bra received. Both are made in China, but Genie are thicker and tighter. Aire bra have 3% more elastane and gives both separation and support. It looks good with the lace and are the best and most comfy bra ever, YIPPIE!!! I’m so happy, now I can use bras, too! Later I have also tried Bravo bra. It is also made in China and have pads and lace. Extremely comfortable and gives separation, but less support than the other two, and the shoulder strap fall down. Still looking for the perfect bra, but these 3 are the best so far, with Aire bra ruling at the top! Aire and Bravo are also available in more colors and without pads. And no, I am not getting paid to say this! Wish I was, but it only is my honest opinion: I like them!
Greetings to you all from Norway.
I have the genie bra and it is very comfy but I do not have a big chest… However I feel like it shrank in the dryer eve though the directions say you can wash and dry it in machines… Having to take the pads in and out for washing is a pain though… But again it is comfy!

And bj’s wholesale club has a three pack for $19.99!!!!!
My underwire bras run from 36 to 38 band size (I’m from the USA) depending on my weight at any given time. Cup size is about a DDDD (4 Ds) – whatever letter that translates to – I don’t know.
I have a ton of either Genie, Ahhh bras, or both – can’t remember, and the labeling is now gone.
The way mine fit/work I wear them Strictly to bed & in the house – they don’t BEGIN to hold up these girls – I’m no Spring chicken. They’re more comfy than wearing either wires or going without one altogether, which I cannot do any more. At least one of these “softy” bras has cup coverage So Small that they barely cover the nips. The others are better, but I can’t tell which is which brand – and I want to buy more. But which kind???
I’ll figure out the best band size for me….I just need to know which brand has the Biggest Cups??? Does anyone here know?
Thanks, Ladies!!!!!
I am a 36D and I’m tall and thin. I originally got the Genie bra in a medium based on the chart. At first it fit great, looked great, and was very comfortable. But I accidentally threw it in the dryer a few times and it really shrank in length. The band and cup fit fine, but if I put my arms over my head, the bra popped up and ended up under my chin!
I decided to try an Ahhh bra in a large and it fits perfectly, but is much thinner and I didn’t get the version with pads so it just feels like a lounge bra…no support, uni-boob, but comfortable around the house. I can’t imagine wearing them without the pads if you’re larger than a D. It seems to give more support. Also if you’re a large cup size, I would go with the Genie over the Ahhh because the material doesn’t stretch as much and would tend to hold you up better.
I talked to customer service at Genie and they said the large should give me a longer shoulder strap, so I’m going to try that next. I have a herniated disc in the middle of my back and both these bras are SO much more comfortable. It really helps with pain compared to a conventional bra.
One tip…if you want to throw the bras in the dryer rather than hanging them to dry, get at least one size larger. If you have the pads, ALWAYS take them out before washing in the machine and wash them by hand. It’s a bit of a pain, but the material came off the foam on all of mine.
Try eBay for either bra…much better deals!
I just got my genie bra’s. I had a double masectomy in october and implants in Feb. I had a difficult time finding a bra that fit and made me look even. These did the job. I was a 44 DDD I bought a 4X and they fit great. Thank you
